THINK
From our discussion on R.A. 9163; list at least 10 relevant points of NSTP LAW

1. Republic Act 1963 is an act establishing the National Service Training Program (NSTP) for
the tertiary level students, amending for the purpose Republic Act 7077 and presidential
decree no. 1706 and for other purpose.
2. It is hereby affirmed the prime duty of the Government to serve and protect its citizen.
In turn it shall be the responsibility of all citizens to defend the security of the State and
in fulfilment thereof, the Government may require each citizen to render personal
military or civil service.
3. Recognizing the youth’s vital role in nation building, then State shall promote civic
consciousness among the youth and shall develop their physical, moral, spiritual
intellectual and social well-being. It shall inculcate in the youth patriotism, nationalism
and advance their involvement in public and civic affairs. In pursuit of the State’s goals,
the youth, the most valuable resource of the nation, shall be motivated, trained,
organized, and mobilized in military training, literacy, civic welfare and other similar
endeavors in the service of nation.
4. The National Service Training Program or NSTP is a program aimed at enhancing civic
consciousness and defense preparedness in the youth by developing the ethics of
service and patriotism while undergoing training in any of its three programs which are
designed to enhance the youth’s active contribution to the general welfare.
5. The ROTC or Reserve Officer’s Training Corps is a program under Sections 38 and 39 of
REPUBLIC Act No. 7077 designed to provide military training to the tertiary level
students throughout the NSTP program for national defense preparedness.
6. Among the components of the National Service Training Program, it is only the Literacy
Training Service (commonly abbreviated as LTS) which highlights the training of students
to become teachers of reading and writing literacy and numerical skills to children, out-
of-school youth and other segments or sectors of the society.
7. The Civic Welfare Training Service is geared towards activities that have social impact
through activities that could contribute to “health, education, environment,
entrepreneurship, safety, recreation and morals of the citizenry”, thus the CWTS
component of the NSTP stressed the importance of youth involvement in broad
programs or activities that will benefit the people.
8. Establishment of the National Service Training Program. — There is hereby
established a National Service Training Program (NSTP), which shall form part of
the curricula of all baccalaureate degree courses and of at least two (2)-year
technical-vocational courses and is a requisite for graduation, consisting of the
following service components: (1) The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC),
which is hereby made optional and voluntary upon the effectivity of this Act; (2)
The Literacy Training Service; and (3) The Civil Welfare Training Service.
9. Coverage. — Students, male and female, of any baccalaureate degree course or at least
two (2)-year technical-vocational courses in public and private educational institutions
shall be required to complete one (1) of the NSTP components as requisite for
graduation.
10. NSTP Offering in Higher and Technical-Vocational Educational Institutions. — All higher
and technical-vocational institutions, public and private, must offer at least one of the
program components: Provided, That State universities and colleges shall offer the
ROTC component and at least one other component as provided herein: Provided,
further, That private higher and technical-vocational education institutions may also offer
the ROTC if they have at least three hundred and fifty (350) cadet students.

EXPERIENCE
From the relevant points indicated in the NSTP Law write a 100 words narrative on how you
become an instrument in delivering the service/s during the height of Covid 19 pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic's long-term impacts can be mitigated by literacy

interventions as we face the greatest educational catastrophe of our century. I will
support literacy engagement, most especially concerning with mental health on
children, during the epidemic as a student whose performance is under the NSTP law. In
such ways that foster a person’s academic success, reading, writing, and listening are
essential for our emotional health. Building in time for children to read for pleasure,
write creatively and expressively, and foster engagement with many media can all help
kids develop their ability to handle challenging situations, during the absence of face-to-
face learning.

CHALLENGE
Based on different content topics of the course, list 10 things that you think become a
hindrance for you to the course, and write what would be the possible solutions to combat
these hindrances.

1. Hectic Schedule
Possible Solution: Divide tasks, manage time, and set achievable performance tasks.
2. Lack of awareness in your surrounding
Possible Solution: Be mindful, strategic, and limit distractions.

3. Socially Anxious
Possible Solution: Be physically active on a regular basis, and participate in social
situations by reaching out to people you feel comfortable with.

4. Place
Possible Solution: Rent an affordable boarding house to stay.

5. Transportation Fees
Possible Solutions: I will use a bicycle or walk instead.

6. Low openness to change

Possible Solution: Be open-minded to adapt changes.

7. Access to information
Possible Solution: Interact more and browse online and other materials.

8. Lack of service understanding

Possible Solution: Be acquainted first on your service to provide.

9. Family Concerns
Possible Solution: Let them attend the orientation or meeting held before the service
program.

10. Lack of basic skills

Possible Solution: Train yourself first and learn more during the process.

WRITE 2 BIBLICAL PASSAGES about God commissioning us to serve. And explain in 5 sentences.

1. Hebrews 6:10

‘’God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him
as you have helped his people and continue to help them.’’

Explanation: God sees and will remember the work that you do and the love you
have shown him. If you have trusted in the source of eternal salvation—that is,
Jesus Christ—your good work and the love that you show are the works of God
himself through you. If you ever feel like God has forgotten you, you need only to
remember what He did for you through Christ on the cross. God will always
remember you and your deeds because He will never forget His Son. Our deeds
will always reflect on us as a Christian person, in the service of God and His
people.

2. Romans 12:1
‘’Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your
bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper
worship.’’

Explanation: The presenting of your bodies is a living sacrifice holy. And

acceptable to God that is your spiritual worship it must happen as worship or it
won't happen as mercy. A physical body is given to each of us by our loving
Heavenly Father. He created it as a tabernacle for our spirit to assist each of us in
our quest to fulfill the full measure of our creation. Our bodies allow each of us to
experience the great plan of salvation that He has designed for all His children.

THINK Caption Analysis

1. From the picture above write 5 sentences on your understanding of the caption.

Our values are alike with lighthouses which symbolizes various things. We overcome
challenges and adversity with its guidance as it gives signals. It urges us to move forward
and help in navigating. In view thereof, we can find the meaning and purpose
designated to our life. Moreover, our values differ from each other, thus, our
lighthouses in our lives also differ.
Word Cloud

1. From the word cloud above, create your definition and/or write your concept about
Values. Based on your answer from the different word/s found in the word clouds.
(The definition/concept should consist of not less than 20 words.)

Your values revolve around self-expression. By knowing your own responsibility, you can
act independently and gain your own freedom where you think your own growth and
success shall arise.

EXPERIENCE
Write a 100-word life situation narrative where your VALUES are tested.

I have a special someone in my life. I do value my feelings toward her, however I do

value my pride. I'm constantly being tested to see if I should confess or just be satisfied
with what we have right now. Sometimes I want to express myself, but my pride always
gets in the way. I can't help but wonder whether I'll be turned down and lose the
friendship we've built. And for the time being, I choose to value my own pride and our
friendship. But that doesn't mean I'll abandon my feelings for her; instead, I'll keep
rooting for her in the meantime, until the right opportunity comes.
CHALLENGE
In our Contemporary time where information is easily accessed through social media platforms
and the world wide web, cite 5 challenges Values are at stake.

1. Privacy is essential to maintaining HUMAN DIGNITY and for managing various

forms of interpersonal relationships. When information are easily accessed, our
privacy can be leaked and lead to a serious problem that will negatively impact our
values.
2. TRUTH- There is no quality assurance when it comes to information found on the
Internet: Anyone can post anything, thus our trust is at risk.
3. EQUITY/ RIGHT- Many have linked the digital divide to poor economic and social
outcomes, such as fewer job opportunities, less competitive economies, or lower
student performance, showing how it exacerbates existing inequalities along racial
and other social lines due to information accessed without being assessed yet.
4. EQUILIBRIUM- Social environment can be harmed due to the conflicts developed
mostly from misunderstanding and misinterpretations of information.
5. INTIMACY- In online environment where information are easily accessed, we would
not be able to share ourselves fully and freely, because everything that we post
online can be taken advantage of and use it against you.

Genesis 1:26-27 “I am GOD creation according to his image and likeness”

Humanity was created mentally as a rational, volitional agent. In other words, humans
can reason and make choices. This reflects God's intellect and freedom. When someone
invents a machine, writes a book, paints a landscape, listens to a symphony, calculates a
sum, or names a pet, he or she is proclaiming that we are created in the image of God.

From the word cloud above, create your definition and/or write your concept about Philosophy.
Based on your answer from the different word/s found in the word clouds. (The
definition/concept should consist of not less than 20 words.

Answer: Philosophy is the ability of having self-awareness which recognizes oneself. And
as an individual, this allows us to identify ourselves and reflect on it.
EXPERIENCE

Write a 100 words narrative regarding your interpretation of the picture based on your
personal experienced.

Answer: I always wonder myself, how. In order to be myself, I include that I must first
endure hardships and suffering in a bid to take care within myself. In my daily existence,
many doubts about who I am and the way I arose to be me have emerged, and I'm still
searching for the response to that question. I must use my own assets to uncover the
answer, and I will do so in order to become myself, to become a strong, independent
person. And in view thereof, that answer will change me forever. When the time comes,
I pledge to become the best version of myself.
CHALLENGE
Social Media and “ME”

Write in 5 sentences the role of Social Media in perceiving your SELF CONCEPT

Answer: Self Concept of oneself is perceivable in the masked internet. Social media may
appear innocent and a simple application to our eye. But when once comsumed, it
becomes like a drug which is addictive to human mind and satisfaction. Not everything
we see or read in the internet is a fact. Rather, it may be a fact for you, while it holds
another meaning to another people.

ASSESS
Assess who is/are the greatest contributor/s in the development of your “Personality” and
cite reasons what/how they contribute to the development of your personality.

1. Family - My personality was mostly molded by my family. They were the first to
embrace me and serve as both my light and my guide. They were really strict with me
when I was a child, but now I finally came to realize exactly the whole purpose of it.
2. Friends - I have a friend that I believe to be the best friend I have. Since we've been
together for almost decade, I think of her as my sister. Some have compared us to twins
because of how similar our attitude and outlooks are. The fact that they occasionally
describe us as having the same appearance shows how influential my friend has been on
the development of my personality.
3. Teachers - I was frequently told as a child what I couldn't do, and I soon came to believe
that those views were true. Children are less likely to hold themselves to high standards
of behaviour if they are not held to high standards of behavior. Every youngster that a
renowned and caring educator comes into contact with benefits from having them as an
advocate and role model. A child's perspective might shift from "I know I will not
succeed" to "I can succeed" with increased confidence.
