NARRATIVE REPORT

“Investiture Ceremony and 8th Council Wide Simultaneous Institutional


Camp”
Theme: “SUSTAINING GROWTH – Building Scouting Positivity amidst Pandemic”
Date: October 21 – 22, 2022

The Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School – Tumaga Annex held its Investiture
Ceremony and joined in the conduct of Institutional 8th Council-Wide Simultaneous Institutional
Camp on October 21-22, 2022, at NIA Covered Court, Tumaga, Zamboanga City.

On October 21, 2022, an Investiture Ceremony was held to welcome the newly admitted
senior scouts of The Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School – Tumaga Annex. The Donning
of the Neckerchiefs and Carabao Slides was administered by OIC-Public Schools District
Supervisor and School Principal IV of Catalina vda. de Jalon Memorial School, Mr. Jonathan T.
Tarroza, School Head of DPLMHS – Tumaga Annex, Mr. Albert G. Villanueva and the School
Scouting Coordinator of Tumaga Annex, Mr. Mikhail Ivan O. Chan. A total of 83 Senior Scouts
were invested.

In adherence to the BSP Zamboanga City Council Memorandum No. 07, series of 2022,
the DPLMHS – Tumaga Annex also joined in the conduct of 8th Council-Wide Simultaneous
Institutional Camp on October 21-22, 2022 at NIA Covered Court, Tumaga, Zamboanga City, of
which 85 senior scouts participated. The institutional camp started with arrival and registration,
followed by camp orientation, which was given by Outfit Advisor, Mr. Mikhail Ivan O. Chan. A
fellowship dinner was held right after.

After the fellowship dinner, the scout participants were grouped into nine (9) crews.
They were immediately given their respective crew-flags of which they created their crew logos,
prepared their yells and skits.

A Campfire was held after the preparation of the crew logos, yell and skit. Outfit Advisor,
Mr. Mikhail Ivan O. Chan officially opened the campfire where the senior scouts sang the campfire
song and presented their respective logos, yells and skits.

After the campfire, a board of review was conducted by Eagle Scout, Rafael Angelo
Buntag, of Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School – Senior High, where four (4) senior scouts
attained the rank of explorer and one (1) senior scout attained the rank of pathfinder. This was the
last activity before the lights off.

On Day 2, early in the morning, the senior scouts had their physical fitness morning
routine, followed by the breakfast.

After the breakfast, the activities continued with the teaching of scout skills such as first-
aid and bandaging, leadership skills, and the like. The school invited personnel from Zamboanga
City Red Cross to train the scouts on first aid and bandaging.

The institutional camp ended with awarding of the inter-crew competition of the learned
scouting skills and distribution of certificates of participation.

Indeed, every scouting activity is fun and noteworthy. The Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial
High School – Tumaga Annex looks forward to participating in many more scouting activities in
the future.
