INVESTIGATION REPORT

Introduction

 In this project I would like to introduce about the E learning platform for students to use it
for learning and development of their skills in learning, this is the iStudy:Smart
Assistance Learning this platform is an alternative to a traditional classroom learning
experience and is often referred to as “online learning,” “remote learning,” “virtual
learning,” “mobile learning,” “digital learning,” or “distance education. iStudy involves
using primarily the internet and one or more other technologies involving one/two-way
transmissions through open broadcast, closed circuit, cable, microwave, broadband lines.
fiber optics, satellite, or wireless communications devices or audio/video conferencing.
IStudy system based on formalised teaching but with the help of electronic resources is
known as E-learning. E-learning can also be termed as a network enabled transfer of skills
and knowledge, and the delivery of education is made to a large number of recipients at
the same or different times.

Problem Statement

• In these days majority of the student have studies in E-learning management instead of
buying books. But there are some problem faced by students in eLearning.

 Adaptability Struggle.
Switching from traditional classroom and face to face instructor training to
computer-based training in a virtual classroom makes the learning experience
entirely different for students. Their resistance to change doesn’t allow them to
adapt to the online learning environment, whereas it takes time for them to get
accustomed to Course Management Systems (CMS) and the methods of
computer-based education. Students with a “traditional” mindset find it difficult
to adapt; however, they need to accept the new learning circumstances with an
open mind and heart. Understanding the benefits of eLearning and even
discussing them with their peers may change this mindset and better prepare
students for online classes.

3
 Technical Issues.
Many students are not provided with the high bandwidth or the strong internet
connection that online courses require, and thus fail to catch up with their virtual
classmates: Their weak monitors make it hard to follow the Course
Management System and their learning experience becomes problematic. The
only solution to this problem is knowing exactly what kind of technological
support they will need for a certain course before enrolling in it, as well as
properly equipping themselves for the course’s successful completion.

 Computer Literacy.
Although students are generally tech savvy, and thus able to manage computers
well, lack of computer literacy is a major issue among students today. Many of
them cannot operate basic programs such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
and therefore are not able to handle their files. Furthermore, many students find
fixing basic computer problems troublesome, as they have no knowledge in this
area. However, technological proficiency is a must for following online courses,
as it enables students to manage their assignments and courseware in an
organized manner without struggling.

 Time Management.
Time management is a difficult task for eLearners, as online courses require a
lot of time and intensive work. Furthermore, whereas it is mostly adults who
prefer web-based learning programs for their place and time flexibility, they
rarely have the time to take the courses due to their various everyday
commitments.

Project Objectives

 The main objective for this project is to design a E-learning system for student
to make the studies a lot more eazier and smarter. More specifically this E-
Learning system can make the daily studies for the student become more
efficient for example by searching some topic in different subject at same time.

1. This E-learning is to help student in studies and give them the content and
give a clear picture of what the student would be able to accomplish by the
end of the studies.

4
2. This E-learning system are being develop for student in others to help them
find their study material, student can navigate through the course with ease,
extracting the right kind of information.

3. This E-Learning being established to ensure that the student's experience in

reviewing lessons is easier and easier to understand When the content is
presented with a clear purpose, student can navigate through the course with
ease, extracting the right kind of information.

Scope of the Project and Constraints

• The main focus of this project is that is to develop the efficient E-learning for student
To help them studies. Although E-learning has been around for over a decade, it’s
become a familiar term over the last couple of years. As the demand for remote
learning grew during the pandemic, E-learning rapidly replaced the physical
classroom. Even now with students heading back to schools and colleges, E-learning
has made a place for itself in the education space and is here to stay. According to
recent research reports, the demand for this project E-learning Market size & share is
expected to reach to USD 374.3 Billion by 2026 from USD 144 Billion in 2019, at a
compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.6%. E-learning is generally divided into
two categories – synchronous and asynchronous. In synchronous E-learning students
and teachers virtually interact with each other at the same time. Similar to an on-
campus class, it’s scheduled regularly and the students and the teacher will attend the
class at the same time. Students participate in discussions, give presentations, turn in
assignments and work on team projects. Classes are conducted live online via MS
TEAMS or a similar platform.

Literature Review

• Based on the previous study, that has been conducted. I-study has democratized
education. This accessibility has dwindled the reason for attending a traditional
college/university. Students from anywhere can study from anywhere at a fraction of
cost at their convenience. What’s the catch then? Well, if you have anything to lose, it
would be the experience of traffic that consumes both your energy and finance. Some
may argue the lack of in-person interaction with peers and professors but can one
deny such communication not being facilitated over the Internet? Webinars, real-time
classroom interaction, and group discussions through live platforms is the best noise
5
reduction. it is a fact that many lectures lack accountability. While they are scheduled
for a class somewhere, they will be busy attending a family part or engage in a tiff
with a staff-room member. Dear, does it hurt if you don’t get to realize the value for
money you invested? In contrast to that, an online program doesn’t require you to run
after a professor for correcting the papers or clarifying doubts. The loss could also be
not having a good fight with a fellow learner who avails exclusive tuition from the
designated lectures biased toward you since you can’t afford extra fees.

1.6.3 Project Usability

 This Istudy system eLearning is a learning process with the combination of

content that is both delivered digitally and through face-to-face learning.
eLearning contributes to the shifts from traditional face-to-face learning to the
use of web technological tools which enhances collaborative learning and
presents an entirely new learning platform for students. eLearning has also been
the principal form of distance education but now, it is also changing the
instructions on higher education as it is now becoming a global agent in higher
education. Advancements in technology learning have contributed to the
enhancements of generations of face-to-face learning and generations of
distance education. As to it, when eLearning develops, it has begun to use
different approaches to address diverse goals.

11
Evaluate Feasibility

1.7.1 Technical Resources

 This project includes Evaluating system testing tools A step-by-step guide ,

step 1 is Evaluate your current situation No matter if you are currently not using
any tool or have been using one for many years and are looking for a more up
to date replacement, step 2 is Define your Requirements There are no two
companies that are exactly alike, and this is also true for testing and QA teams.
Some only have 1 tester, that is doing everything testing related, some combine
developers and testers in small teams while others have a testing organization
with dozens of testers. Similarly, there is no one testing solution that is a good
fit for all teams. Step 3 is Establish an evaluation team, this process both
experienced professionals, who are familiar with your organization’s
requirements, as well as more novice users, in order to understand their point
of view about the everyday usage of the system and intuitiveness. Step 4 is Start
hunting possible testing platforms , Similarly to other types of tools, the number
of potential tools to choose from can be overwhelming. As such, it is
recommended to narrow the list based on your defined requirements. Step 5
Read public testing tool reviews, it also can be a good source of information,
to hear what other customers like and dislike about the solutions you are
evaluating. As mentioned before, every organization has its own set of
requirements that are not necessarily identical to those of another organization,
but still, reading actual user reviews can help tune points that require a closer
examination of the tools you have selected for evaluation. Step 6 Points to
consider (but not limited to) it contains, “Price , Integration. Integration.
Integration, Go cloud or go home, Reports, Ease of work and User Experience.
Step 7 is DEMO, Make sure you see a demo for each of the options, preferably
a live demo, where you can ask questions relevant to your organization-specific
needs.

1. ERDplus.

ERDPlus enables drawing Star Schema components. This makes star schema
diagrams easier to interpret. As with relational schemas, the tool supports quick
creation of foreign keys and referential integrity lines by simple click-point-

12
connect actions. This simplifies and quickens the process of creating star
schemas.

2. XAMPP.

XAMPP is simply a local host or server that is used to test clients or websites
before publishing them to a remote web server. The XAMPP server software on
a local computer provides an appropriate environment for testing MYSQL, PHP,
Apache, and Perl projects.

3. PhpMyAdmin.

phpMyAdmin is a free software tool written in PHP that is intended to handle

the administration of a MySQL or MariaDB database server. You can use
phpMyAdmin to perform most administration tasks, including creating a
database, running queries, and adding user accounts.

4. MySQL.

MySQL, a function is a stored program that you can pass parameters into and
then return a value. Just as you can create functions in other languages, you can
create your own functions in MySQL.

The syntax to create a function in MySQL is :

CREATE FUNCTION function_name [ (parameter datatype [, parameter

datatype]) ]
RETURNS return_datatype

BEGIN

declaration_section

executable_section

END;

13
5. Google chrome domain.

Manage your domains, add or transfer in domains, and see billing history with
Google Domains. Simplified domain management right from your Google
Account.

1.7.2 Financial Resources

 For the financial resource in this project, most of the basic software and
database used in this project are using my own money because I don’t have a
sponsor. The estimated cost for this project is between RM50.00 to RM10.00

Conclusion and Recommendation

1.8.1 Conclusion

 As a result, I am try to prove to community that even our project is just a

prototype it still can be function as high quality E-learning project system.
online learning is beneficial to the students, tutors and the institution offering
these courses. I would therefore recommend that online learning be
implemented on all learning institutions and research on how to improve this
learning process should be carried out.

1.8.2 Recommendation

 The design of this project’s E-learning system is only a small database, for user
and student, they also can choose whether or not to use this E-learning system
for their daily life for study Learning styles which refer to students’ preferred
ways to learn can play an important role in adaptive e-learning systems. With
the knowledge of different styles, the system can offer valuable advice and
instructions to students and teachers to optimize students’ learning process.
Moreover, e-leaning system which allows computerized and statistical
algorithms opens the opportunity to overcome drawbacks of the traditional
detection method that uses mainly questionnaire.

14
1.8.3 Benefit to Organization /Society/Nation/Others

 At the end of this project, I hope that this E-learning system that I produce
called a I study: smart assistance learning will contribute and give benefits to
the student and other users for their use in learning to strengthen their ability to
find learning materials
