QUIZ 1:

1. Define First Aid. Why is it important? What are the basic things to remember in
First Aid?

From the word itself "FIRST AID", it is an immediate action and necessary
treatment given to a particular person who is suffering from a sudden injury or
illness in order to ascertain whether their condition is severe or not. First aid can
help to alleviate suffering, prevent further harm, and prolong life until professional
medical assistance arrives to take over. These days, first aid is significantly vital
in people's lives at all times. In fact, being knowledgeable about first aid skills can
help us to cope up quickly when a terrible incident occurs. There is so-called
planning in action, which establishes what resources you have, gathering and
preparing all valuable equipment, and the sequence of action if the place is safe,
what was happened, is anyone could help, how many people are injured, and,
most importantly, obtaining consent from the injured before administering first
aid.

2. What are the steps in first aid? Give a brief explanation in each of them.

When performing first aid, there is an initial response or sequence of

action that must always be followed. First, determine whether the situation is safe
for you, an injured person, or the people around you. Find out what happened
and how many people were injured. Before rushing to provide medical care,
ensure that there is no potential or possible occurrence. Second, make a plan for
intervention. Ask someone to assist you and call for medical support. Plan your
actions until professional assistance arrives, and determine how much
assistance you can provide based on your knowledge and skills. Third,
before performing first aid, you must acquire their consent if they have allowed
you to care for them. As well as, do no further harm. Determine whether a person
has a severe condition and what steps need to be taken. Ascertain that the first
aid technique used is appropriate for the injuries. Manage the patient in
accordance with current first aid guidelines, and take things one step at a time.

3. What are the action to take in case of cuts or wound and bleeding from
opening?

In the event of a cut, wound, or bleeding from an opening, the following

steps should be taken: First, examine airways, breathing, and circulation.
Then, apply direct pressure with clean material or a bandage, if necessary,
unless there are open fractures or head wounds with potential head injury. Next ,
thoroughly wash the blood away. Additionally, if possible, elevate the bleeding
injury above the heart, unless it is caused by a broken bone or a poisoned bite. If
further injury occurs, apply pressure to the wound to stop the
bleeding. Furthermore, bandage firmly. Make sure that it is not too tight. If the
bandage is bleeding, do not remove it, instead, apply more sponges. And at last,
transport the injured person to the nearest hospital or medical facility so that
professional medical care can be provided.
