I. Objectives:
At the end of the discussion, the students will be able to:
1. Identify the three phases of matter.
2. Classify objects according to it its physical properties.
3. Appreciate the different objects around us.

III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Drill
Group the pupils into 4 groups. Each group will write objects they see
inside the classroom. They will write as many objects they can with the
allotted minutes. As the timer stops, each group finish or unfinished must
post their work on the board. The most numbered of written objects will
receive more points.
2. Review
Ask the pupil what is matter.
3. Motivation
Children will sing the action song entitled “Mga Hugna sa Butang”
B. Preparatory Activities
1. Presentation
Show the pupils 3 plastic cups with different objects inside.
One cup with stone inside, another cup with water inside and another
cup with nothing inside but air.
2. Discussion
Discuss each phases of matter with the objects presented. Throw
questions to the pupils for them to keep on track of the discussion.
3. Application
A. Individual Activity
Let the pupils classify the given objects according to their
characteristics.
B. Group Activity
G1- Draw 3 examples of objects under solid phase of matter.
G2- Color the objects which you think an example of liquid.
G3- Give examples of gas object while singing.
G4- Classify the objects according to the phase of matter it belongs.
4. Generalization:
Ask the pupils,
What are three phases of Matter?
The state of matter that has definite size, shape and weight, what is
it?
The state of matter that takes the shape of their container and can
also flow and it can be poured, what is it?
The state of matter that usually cannot be seen, spreads out easily
and also takes the shape of its container.
