Activity Rationale As active members of the community, teachers have great roles in
modeling proactive measures to protect and rehabilitate Mother
Earth/Nature. It has also been known that the Earth’s health is
deteriorating and in greater need to be saved. Hence, it is high time
that intensive actions are taken by all concerned. These steps, however
small, shall have significant impact in preserving the Earth not only for
this generation, but more so for the generations to come.
In connection to this, the teachers of Pagadian City Pilot School
through the initiative of the Master Teachers and members of LAC
Team D conducted a Tree Planting Program/ Activity around the
vicinity of the school in partnership with the Barangay San Jose
Officials together with the School Principal III, Mr. Agustin D. Gallegos .
PCPS parents, pupils and other stakeholders are also involved of the
said activity.
Activity Objectives
This community service activity aimed to model desirable actions
and impact positive influence on pupils and other community
members in helping protect Mother Earth through restoring the lush
woodland in our locality.

Narrative Report The Tree Planting activity started with a short program at the
PCPS covered court. Master Teacher II, Armene Gay B. Bobita served as
the host. The program started with an unfreezing activity followed by a
welcome address of Master Teacher I, Asiquin D. Miñoza. Then, Hon.
Duke Arao gave his short meassage and stressed out the importance of
planting trees oround the locality. Master Teacher II, Armene Gay B.
Bobita shared her knowledge and expertise on the importance of trees
to the environment, reasons and effects of climate change and the
purposes of planting trees. The short program formally ended with a
closing prayer lead by Mrs. Delia S. Ringon followed by pictorials of the
group with the guest/s.
Before going to the venue where to plant the seedlings of fruit
trees, Master Teacher I, Asiquin D. Miñoza instructed the group on
what to do first before planting them. Then the group went to the
identified areas together with the PCPS learners/ parents and
successfully planted the 20 varied seedlings of fruit trees with tree
guards.
In a nutshell, the tree planting activity was a resounding
success.
General Comments & The aforementioned activity needs seedlings and tree guards. So, the
Issues Encountered group decided to purchase varied seedlings of fruit trees and tapped
the Officials of Barangay San Jose for the construction of tree guards
that made the activity a successful one. Seedlings of Yakal trees and
others trees were given by the Department of Environment and
Natural Resources. Tree Guards were also given by the San Jose
barangay through the Barangay Captain Glenn Stephen R. Arao- Arao.
Recommendations The newly planted fruit trees should be taken cared off by the Group
from time to time.
Financial Reports Each member of group contributed 120 pesos in purchasing the
seedlings.
