NARRATIVE REPORT
FIRST QUARTER NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL (NSED)
March 10, 2022

Earthquake is a natural phenomenon caused by constant movements

of the earth’s plates due to climate change. When or where it would occur is
highly unpredictable, that’s why earthquake drill and exercises are
extremely important because they teach every individual how to respond to
an actual emergency.

Relevant to this, KISANDI National High School together with its

faculty and our School Head actively participated to the First Quarter
National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill last March 10, 2022 from 8:00 AM
to 9:00 AM. Before the drill, Maria Carmela N. Cabeltes, SDDRM
Coordinator reminded the faculty on the three important things to do during
an earthquake. The drill started during the virtual ceremonial pressing of
the button, all faculty and our School Head religiously followed the Duck,
Cover and Hold and at the same time observing standard safety health
protocols. All faculty are gathered to the designated evacuation area and an
assessment was done by the SDRRM Coordinator.

Mr. Ronnie I. Javien our School Head then gave his observation and
feedback to the said activity. He pointed out the significance of the drill and
some areas that the school needs to enhance like procuring emergency kits
and equipment that were unavailable in the school and crafting well-laid
plans that will ensure the safety of every learner especially now that the
school is preparing for the upcoming face to face classes after the COVID-19
pandemic.

Overall, the activity was successful with 100% teachers’ participation

and the school’s absolute commitment to safeguard not only every learner’s
education but also their well-being and the welfare of the stakeholders and
the community.
