BALUT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

GENERAL ASSEMBLY
S.Y. 2018-2019

Parents-Teacher Association are mandatory in the basic education in the Philippines.

This institution provides additional help to the school specially those problems concerning the
school and learners. The Department of Education established this in order for the school to
have an opportunity to reach out with the community to where it belongs.

In this connection, GPTA officers and teachers of Balut Elementary School together
with the leadership and initiation of our Head Imelda N. Martin conducted a General Assembly
on 7th of September 2018, held at Balut Elementary School Covered Court. Mrs. Thelma T.
Sangalang was the emcee of the said activity, the program was started by a prayer led by Mrs.
Kathlene Dizon followed by the singing of “Awiting Makabayan” which was conducted by Ms.
Jessica Sanchez. After the singing of Awiting Makabayan, checking of attendance was done
by Mrs. Thelma T. Sangalang through a roll call type with a twist of Zumba which parents
from Kinder up to Grade 6 danced together dynamically. After such preliminary activities, an
introductory speech was given by Mrs. Imelda N. Martin, who welcomed the parents cordially
as she introduced herself as the newly appointed head teacher of Balut Elementary School,
other concerns were also raised that time.

Then it was followed by Mrs. Hygiene Barata the secretary of the General Parents-
Teachers Association who discussed the different agendas, plans and projects of the GPTA
including the Zumba activity with the theme “Come One, Come All”. The program aims to
collect a general fund for the benefit of the school community and for the learners as well.
After such, parents proceed to each respective classroom for the issuance of the report cards
and for some concerns regarding to the performance of their child in the school.

The program started from 3:30 pm up to 5:00 pm and there were no such untoward
problems occur during the whole program. Indeed, the whole conduction of the said activity
was successful and fulfilling for the teachers and parents.
