NARRATIVE REPORT

Natural disasters of various types have been wreaking havoc on the

world, with catastrophic consequences. Recent wildfires, earthquakes,
tsunamis, and storm surges have claimed lives and destroyed property.
Disaster preparedness is a continuous and integrated process that is the
result of a wide range of activities and resources rather than a single sectoral
activity. It necessitates contributions from a variety of sectors, ranging from
training and logistics to health care and institutional development.
In accordance with the theme of the Brigada Eskwela— Tugon sa Hamon
ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral, pertaining to Subic National High School's Disaster
Risk Preparedness, Management, and Response, the School Disaster Risk
Reduction Management Council headed by Emmanuel Dumasig, SDRRM
Coordinator organized a seminar for teaching and non-teaching personnel,
students, and stakeholders, which will facilitate the desired changes towards
the improvement and distribution of knowledge and information about the said
topic.
The seminar, which took place on the covered court of Subic National
High School on August 15, 2022, was part of an effort to educate people,
particularly students, about the risks that a disaster imposes and how they
can, if not prevent, at least mitigate its impact on the community.
Topics covered in the process include Basic Disaster Risk Reduction
Concepts and Terminologies, Disaster Standard Operating Procedures, and
Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation. Activities and games were
conducted at the end of each topic in the process to ensure that the
participants were learning while also enjoying the entire seminar process.
The seminar aims to provide teaching and non-teaching personnel,
students, and stakeholders with the information they will need in the event of a
disaster or crisis. This would also help them improve their knowledge, skills,
and attitude towards securing a disaster secured schools, learners and
personnel. This seminar can be used to educate people about the importance of
knowing how to act and react when a disaster occurs, as well as how these
actions can impact societal conformity.
Natural disasters, accidents, and tragedies are unavoidable. While you
can't completely avoid disasters, you can help mitigate their effects. When
something bad happens, being prepared is the simplest way to mitigate the
damage. From taking your own precautions at home to contacting disaster relief

organizations, let's take a closer look at what you can do to keep yourself and
your family safe in the event of an emergency.
Being prepared can save your property and return entire populations to
normalcy faster than if you are not prepared when the disaster strikes. Disaster
preparedness, when broken down, can save lives. Although it takes some time
to plan, it’ll serve your entire family if you plan ahead.
