REGION III – CENTRAL LUZON
SCHOOLS DIVISION OF ZAMBALES
SUBIC NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
PART II
NARRATIVE REPORT
Educators believe that environment plays a big part in students’ learning. And so, if
classrooms are not conducive to learning because of poor condition and some defective school
facilities, education is hindered.
The Department of Education held this year's Brigada Eskwela, also known as the National
Schools Maintenance, from August 1 to 26, 2022, with the theme "Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa
Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral." All education stakeholders were encouraged to participate
and contribute their time, effort, and resources to this school maintenance effort in order to ensure
that all public school facilities are ready for the August 22 school opening.
In this regard, Subic National High School held a series of activities to bring together various
private institutions or individuals, other government agencies, and members of various
communities as stakeholders in ensuring the smooth start of classes for the upcoming school year.
Kick-off Ceremony
Teachers and stakeholders held a motorcade early on August 15 to mark the start of Brigada
Eskwela. Following the parade, the teachers and stakeholders who joined the motorcade were
energized by a sumptuous Brigada Almusal donated by supportive parents.
During the opening program headed by the Brigada Eskwela working committee, Ms. Ma.
Theresa Cristobal, Teacher III conducted the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, Lupang
Hinirang with Ms. Gemma Solis, SPED Facilitator for it’s sign language.
Mr. Godofredo L. Policarpio, Teacher I, led the school in the opening prayer. These were
followed by the singing of the DepEd Region III Hymn and Zambales Hymn.
The opening remarks was given by our very energetic school principal, Ms. Bernadette O.
Umayam. In her opening remarks, she presented the School Learning Recovery Plan.
A heartfelt message was given by the Municipal Mayor Jonathan F. Khonghun followed by
Barangay Captain Alexander Viray and President of the SNHS Alumni Association, Adrian
Montallana.
An overview of the activities was presented by the Brigada Eskwela Coordinator, Ms. Zenaida M.
Magno followed by the invitation to Pledge of Commitment headed by Ms. Carmen Eugenio,
head teacher of the AP department. All stakeholders were invited to sign the commitment wall.
Mr. John Eduard Paz and Mr. Arnold Agligar were the Masters of Ceremony during the opening
program.
“In UNION there is strength”. This famous Aesop line was seen or occurred during the conduct
of Brigada Eskwela 2022 at Subic National High School. This was accomplished with the
assistance of various stakeholders from the public and private sectors. The school met its
objectives, which included promoting cooperation among stakeholders, upholding the spirit of
bayanihan among private institutions and local government officials, instilling the spirit of
volunteerism, and preparing the school for the start of classes.
