NARRATIVE REPORT
1. Introduction/ Rationale
Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum No. 62, s. 2022 entitled 2022 Brigada Eskwela
Implementing Guidelines and the school’s initiative in building partnership
engagement activities, the project LEAD—“Learners Engagement on Academic
Development in Literacy and Numeracy” under Brigada Pagbasa Program provided
assistance to learners to guarantee that education will continue amidst the
challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Sta. Fe National High School
Faculty and staff together with its stakeholders and volunteers participated in a
program promoting the development of literacy skills among slow readers and
numeracy skills among learners who have difficulty in Mathematics.
2. Narration of Accomplishment
A letter of invitation seeking for volunteers for Brigada Pagbasa was sent to
prospect individuals or groups from July 28 to August 2. There were about 6
volunteers from the community who responded and were mainly composed of
Education students, as well several alumni of Sta. Fe National High School.
The orientation of the volunteers of Brigada Pagbasa Project LEAD was conducted
last August 2, 10:00AM at Sta. Fe National High School. The grade level advisers
pre-assessed the learners before conducted the free tutorials and were able to
identify the leaners who have difficulty in reading and in Mathematics.
The Five-day pilot implementation of the Brigada Pagbasa Project LEAD was carried
out from August 8 to 12. Most of the leaners who have difficulty in reading and in
basic skills in Mathematics were from grades 7 to 10. The volunteers for reading
mostly focused on the learner’s recognition of difficult words, pronunciation,
enunciation, and phrasing. On the other hand, the numeracy volunteers
concentrated on the basic concepts in Mathematics such as multiplication,
division, and fraction.
