“ TEACHING ENGLISH TO YOUNG LEARNERS (K-3)”

TEACHER TRAINING-WORKSHOP FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDUCATORS

1. In the spirit of partnership, This Office hereby informs the field that
pursuant to a grant from the United States Embassy of the Philippines (US
Embassy) and its Regional English Language Office (RELO) shall provide
professional development support for the teaching of literacy skills to emerging and
frustrated young readers. This is a training-workshop which will be hosted by
Vicente M. Veloso Memorial Foundation, Inc.(VMVMF) at the Farm in Guinciaman,
Sitio Busay, Guinciaman, San Miguel, Leyte on January 23-26 and 28-30, 2024.

2. By the end of the training, teachers will leave a repertoire of new skills to
conduct reading lessons in both language and content classes. Each participant
shall cascade their training locally upon theirv return to their respective school
districts.

3. The participants to this training - workshop are the 80 District Reading

Coordinators (see as found in the enclosure), and the following teachers who
presently work with the Teach for the Philippines: Ms. Junelyn Dy, Grade 2 teacher
at Villaba South Central School and Ms. Rubilyn Braga, Grade 2 teacher at
Calubian South Central School.

4. Meals, Snacks, accommodation, and transportation of the participants are

free and it will be taken cared of by the host-VMVMF. To reduce waste and
minimize environmental impact, each participant shall bring their own toiletries
and reusable water bottles for refilling at the water stations. Participants must
secure their travel order.

5. District Supervisors must ensure the attendance of their participant to the

said training-workshop.
