PROJECT TITLE: Pursuing Education Amidst Crisis & Emergency situation through K-teacher
(Project PEACE K-t)

PROJECT TIME-FRAME: 1 to 4th Quarter of School Year 2020-2021

II. Project Summary
The Department of Education understands that a child's early language, literacy, and numeracy skills are the
cornerstone of learning, as stated in the Enclosure to Deped Order No. 12, s. 2015. According to the Department of
Education, certain abilities do not develop naturally and thus require rigorous planning and instruction. As a result,
children must have access to age-appropriate and culturally sensitive materials to assist them in developing reading,
speaking, writing, and counting habits. ELLN (Early Language, Literacy, and Numeracy) aims to help Filipino children
develop early literacy and numeracy abilities and attitudes that will help them learn for the rest of their lives. It seeks
to strengthen Key Stage 1 learners' reading and numeracy skills, which are regarded the foundation for determining a
learner's readiness to acquire knowledge. PRIMALS (Pedagogical Retooling in Mathematics, Languages, and Science),
on the other hand, ensures the continuance of ELLN implementation for Key Stage 2 students. This is created in
accordance with the K–12 curriculum.
The planning phase would be the initial step towards achieving the project's goals. The next stage will be a big
advocacy campaign with motorcade public announcements of selected ACES staff, while adhering to all safety
protocols. Then, per grade level, recruit volunteers using group chats, phone calls, and texts in each class. Following
the recruitment phase, there will be training. This one-day course will undoubtedly provide necessary basic skills and
knowledge on how to manage Key Stage 1 and 2 learners in their distance modular learning process.
They will sign a Memorandum of Understanding and Agreement, an Oath of Obligation, and personal data
sheets after the course. They will be charged to educate pupils in their barangay in their given grade level at their most
convenient time after becoming certified as K-Teachers.

III. Project Background

Education is one of the most severely impacted systems as a result of the current pandemic. The Department
of Education, led by Secretary of Education Leonor Magtolis Briones, fearlessly faced the task of continuing education
in our country AGDANGAN
because of the department's
CENTRAL unitySCHOOL
ELEMENTARY and commitment to fulfill the DepEd Mission and Vision. Teachers at

Stages 1 and 2, with a focus on language literacy and numeracy development. This project/program was thoroughly
considered and prepared in accordance with the DepEd aim at Sulong Edukalidad.
Prior to the outbreak of this pandemic, parents' involvement in their children's learning was limited. However,
because teaching and learning will take place at home, parents will have to put in a lot more effort to help their
children learn. During the dry run, the school noted the difficulties parents face when teaching their children. Not every
parent is capable of teaching their child at home. Some parents were adamant about their abilities to instruct their
children utilizing the material given. They didn't have enough faith in their ability to appropriately explain the lesson.
Some parents also admitted that their educational backgrounds would not be sufficient to help their children study.
The availability of the parents was the second consideration. Some of them are so preoccupied with their jobs that
they don't have time to devote to their children's education. Those parents were the reason that during the dry run,
certain modules were not returned by the school's deadline. Some parents struggled to balance their time while
teaching a variety of youngsters with varying levels of demands and comprehension. The school devised a plan to
improve the skills and knowledge of parents in order to ensure that their children receive a good basic education.

As a result of this issue, the school sought the assistance of other members of the community. They will be
referred to as K-teachers. They are the “kapitbahay, kapatid, kaibigan, kumara, kabarkada and all the Ks” in the
neighborhood or locality of learners without parents who will devotedly advise and assist them. Due to scheduling
conflicts, K-teachers will fill in as substitute parents or teachers. While the pandemic is still affecting the school, they
will function as a partner in continuing and obtaining basic education. school project will be implemented since the
purpose of both parents and teachers is to find all available ways to provide education to children.

IV. Project Objectives

This project aims to achieve the following:

 To ensure that all students complete and submit their module and activity sheets on time.
 Identify the number of K - teachers who will volunteer as K-teacher in each catchment area per grade

V. Project Description/Methodology

This Project PEACE K- t is an everyday literacy and numeracy intervention/activity administered by

well-equipped parents/guardians. This project will include the pupils from kindergarten up to grade 6 who are having
delayed development in early literacy and numeracy skills, their teachers or the teachers who are assigned in their
barangays and their parents or guardian. To identify the pupils who are having delayed development in early literacy
and numeracy skills, an assessment will be conducted by each adviser assigned to their areas. After getting the total
number of the target pupils, setting the schedule of session will be done. They will be using materials developed by the
teachers from kinder to grade 6 that are localized and contextualized. It includes localized & contextualized flashcards
(for both letters and numbers), story books or children’s book and creative counting devices. Parents/guardians with
the guidance of the kinder to grade 6 teachers will choose and decide on what materials will be used.

Quarterly assessments and various types of assessments will be used to track their progress in learning.
Teachers in kindergarten through sixth grade, as well as the school principal, will assess and analyze the data acquired
to see if there has been a significant development in the learner's skills and knowledge.
