NARRATIVE REPORT ON BRIGADA


ESKWELA 2019
I. Introduction
SY 2019-2020 Educators believe that environment plays a
big part in pupils· learning. And so, if classrooms are not conducive to
learning because of poor condition and some defective school facilities,
education is hindered. The Department of Education conducted this
year Brigada Eskwela, also known as the National Schools Maintenance
Week on May 20-May 26, 2019 where all education stakeholders
contributed their time, effort and resources in ensuring that the school
facilities are ready in time for the school opening.. Parents, school
alumni and other people from the community were encouraged to join
the week - long annual program. Since no national government money
was put into Brigada Eskwela (because there was simply no budget for
that purpose), private businesses, NGO’s, private individuals and local
government were tapped to solicit donations to cover the effort of
repair and maintenance of the school. The value of cooperation and
Bayanihan had been portrayed to assist the school to be ready for the
next school year.
II. Highlights of Accomplishments
A. Scope of Work
The school physical facilities coordinator and some PTA
members performed a school ocular to identify the school facilities that
need repair and maintenance. After this, the steering committee
planned different schools activities for Brigada Eskwela
B. Resource Generated
The said activities was the following; office mural, school
stage mural, installation of the school steel gate, tiling of the Grade 2
comfort room, repair and installation of the electrical wiring ,repairs of

Kindergarten garden fence, repair of the door in the changing room,
installation of the screen window, construction of long feeding table,
construction of the feeding benches, painting of the kaugop hub,
painting of the teachers table, painting of chairs, painting of classrooms
blackboard sidings, painting of the pergola, grass cutting, overall
cleanliness and school facilities of the entire school through weeding
and technical checking of school facilities. In connection to this, during
the first day of the Brigada Eskwela, parents from kinder and grade one
was assigned to clean the backyard of the classrooms. Next day was
assigned to grades two and three wherein they were in charge to clean
and beautify the pergola activity area and school stage. While on the
third day, the grades four and six parents was tasked to clean the
backyard of the Principal’s office, Library room and feeding area. The
fourth day of the brigada was assigned to the parents of 4ps and MCCT
beneficiaries, were tasked to plant crops maintain the Gulayan sa
Paaralan Project. Fifth day was handled by the barangay officials
together with PNP continues the cleaning and beautification of the
entire school, they also do some repair works in the grade one
classroom , electrician from LEYECO also rendered 3 days service. Last
day of the brigada was the closing program, The Sta. Elena Elementary
School Brigada Eskwela has the total of 841,044.00 donations only
from the different stakeholders and private individual.. This made the
Brigada Eskwela successful.

III. Conclusion.
This week long activity was indeed successful through hand
in hand work from the internal and external stakeholders and kind
hearted.

Responsible for info dissemination campaign regarding the importance, goal and
different actives of Brigada Eskwela. Its member were given the task to develop or reproduce
campaign materials that would inform the public’s involvement and support to the said program.
They also made arrangement with local radio station to air the campaign.

DOCUMENTATION COMMITTEE
Member of the documentation committee make sure that all activities related to Brigada
Eskwela were documented through photos and video footages. They are task to keep and
maintain the daily attendance of volunteers as well as daily reports of donations received
accordingly provided a daily conduct of inventory of the usage of materials and supplies
refreshment to volunteers
