AN ARCHIPELAGO OF HERITAGE

HOW DO WE BRING THE Bridging last time's concept of Heritage that talks
about the PAST-NOW, we will now discover our
CONCEPT OF 'PAMANA' TO THE country's heritage that we can bring into the
FUTURE? FUTURE.

We are stabilizing our LEGACY with our given

WHAT WOULD WE 'PAMANA' AS
PART OF OUR FILIPINO
IDENTITY?
ARCHITECTURE BRIDGES THE GAP
identities, and using such to create something new
for our future.
Mixed with my very first concept of a TECHNO-
ISLE PAVILION, we bring the PAMANA PAVILION
50 yrs later & beyond as a long-lasting legacy
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
depicting the best of the best from our country.

FORM CONCEPT
PAMANA PAVILION:
BRINGING THE PHILIPPINES TO THE FUTURE + EVOLUTION
PHILIPPINES AS 'PEARL OF THE ORIENT'

-starts out as plain 'PEARL of the -Addition of Exterior Shell, something

Orient' - one of the well known images surrounding the pearl (makes it precious &
of the country protected; like our country) + emphasizing its 11
place in water (like ours as an archipelago)

- Naturalizing the shape of the shell as -Modernized & softened form of the pearl with
IMPERFECT like our country, has cracks & potential curves allowing light in spaces
soft bumps & peaks.... Idea is what is broken in 11
our country today will be fixed in the future.

- Determining Entrances, features & pathway -- will
become SUPERIMPOSED

-Water deck as an additional feature surrounding the

structure to mimic a shell in PLAN form

--The roof of the bridge on the left side would connect to

the spiral around the shell (connectedness) as a WATER
CURTAIN --
-The Curved water curtain serves to mix the solid pearl
with something airy as relief in contrast & invoke a sense
of feeling because it would actually drizzle curvy water
around the structure like a fountain show

-That drizzle would represent RAIN / BAGYO something

the Philippines often experiences & could compel visitors
to wear a raincoat before entering the pavilion (para
maexperience nila hehe)

- CAPIZ SHELLS AS MAIN MATERIAL CLADDING

--it will give it its PEARL-LIKE texture, make it reflect
colors nicely & has a seemingly HOLOGRAPHIC-like
colors fit for a futuristic design

Program of Activities #1:

Futuristic form & Design Features

Aside from its PEARL-LIKE Concept, the facade would immediately look
like a techno-isle pavilion symbolizing the FUTURE-READYNESS of the
country... The Facade shall incorporate KINETIC features as well as plays
of LIGHT & HOLOGRAPHIC PERFORMANCES

The Dancing fountain & Water curtain from the moment you
enter the vicinity is visible & experienced

The Bridge roofing connecting to the curved water curtain shall

explore a Kinetic facade & parametric design features slowly
moving

Holographic elements will be explored like a projector on the

exterior of the structure especially at Night show

Design as a Techno-Isle Pavilion
for the Philippines
Entering the structure would feature a wide open ATRIUM with a
skylight & a central attraction that could be like a PEARL

FLOOR MAPPING USING LIGHTS & SENSORS WILL BE

AVAILABLE TO DIRECT YOU TO YOUR NEXT
DESTINATION FOR GROUND FLOOR FACILITIES

a projector map is present at your feet... a scanner would

detect your location all times in the pavilion using a QR so
you can know where you are & where you're going...

Design for Sustainability

As one of the sustainable features, the building would run on

HYDROPOWER...

An underwater turbine under the structure will be used.

I'm also exploring whether to expose the turbine
underwater as something people can admire in the
pavilion as an attraction.

More Sectors Included

Agriculture & Transportation is an additional sector that will be
recognized.

A magnetic cable car looking like a tricycle/jeepney will

be an additional vehicle to move between floors like a
train

For agriculture, a small space dedicated to aquaculture

& aquaponic will be provided.... most likely next to the

Unifying IDEA/ THEME/

THE CULTIVARIUM, GINTUAN BUSINESS CENTRE & RICE

TERRACE THEATRE will still exist for the same purposes but with
more advanced features.

RETRACTABLE & KINETIC features will make the space

more dynamic... A modernized version of cave-like
features & other naturalistic Philippine features will be
present in all the transition spaces...
