MATHEMATICS PROJECT GUIDELINES

1. The project to be hand written in black or blue ink (only) on A4 sized project sheets (white only) and compiled in a
pair of OHP sheets.
2. Each of the project sheets should have border line on all its side (using highlighter pen).
3. It must be supported with appropriate pictures. All pictures must be pasted on the left-hand side blank page in a box
with a title.
4. Cover page must be plain with the subject: MATHEMATICS PROJECT, name of the student, class, division, roll number,
academic year (2022-2023) and school name mentioned on it. (You can use a colour page for it or make a collage of
the topic).
5. All headings and sub-headings should be underlined.
6. The pages must be numbered properly. Make sure not to number the blank pages on which pictures are pasted.
7. Each topic must be written on a new page. Sub-topics need not to be on a new page. Leave two lines between two
sub-topics.
8. Make separate index pages for each project.
9. The project pages should be arranged in the following order:
i) Cover page (common for both the projects)
ii) Acknowledgement (common for both the projects)
iii) Project -1: Title
iv) Index
v) Objective
vi) Pre-requisite knowledge
vii) Materials required
viii) Method/ Procedure
ix) Observation
x) Conclusion
xi) Real Life Applications (supported with pictures)
xii) My Learning Experience/ Learning Outcomes
xiii) References/ Bibliography
xiv) Project -2: Title
xv) Index….. and repeat the same from step number (iv) to (xiii) for project 2 also.

PROJECT 1
Title: Pythagoras Theorem
Objective: To verify Pythagoras theorem by Bhaskara method.
Note: No theoretical proofs will be accepted.

Points to be covered:
1. Introduction: Theory
2. Introduction of Bhaskara, the Mathematician.
3. Pre-requisite : Concept of a right-angled triangle.

Construction of perpendicular lines.
4. Materials Required
5. Method: Practical verification of the above theorem. (Pasting of cutouts mandatory)

7. Conclusion: On the basis of the observation made.

PROJECT 2
Title: Statistics
Objective:
Drawing a Histogram to represent the number of runs scored by an opening batsman during IPL matches last season.

Approach : Research

1. Introduction: What is Statistics


2. Various types of representation of data
3. Pre-requisite and Materials Required.
4. Method: Graphical representation of the collected data. (can make use of coloured
strips for representing histogram)
5. Observation: Tabulation of the data, calculation and comparison.
6. Conclusion: on the basis of the observation made.
7. Real Life Applications of ‘Statistics’ (mandatory to stick pictures)
8. My Learning Experience: Must share your experience and learnings while completing
the project in 5-10 sentences.
