ACI Historical Background:


In 1968, ACI was founded as a subsidiary of Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) in what
was then East Pakistan. Following independence, the company was founded in
Bangladesh on January 24, 1973, as ICI Bangladesh Manufacturers Limited and also as
a Public Limited Company.

This company was likewise listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange on December 28,
1976, and its shares were first traded on March 9, 1994. ICI plc later transferred 70% of
its ownership to local management on May 5, 1992. Following that, the company was
renamed Advanced Chemical Industries Limited. On October 22, 1995, the company
was listed on the Chittagong Stock Exchange.

Advanced Chemical Industries (ACI) Limited is a multinational corporation that is one of


Bangladesh's biggest conglomerates. Healthcare, Consumer Brands, and Agribusiness
are the three core Strategic Business Units (SBUs) of the corporation.

Company Mission:

Current State
ACI Salt was introduced in August 2005 and is promoted and distributed through ACI
Consumer Brands' network. ACI has established a salt refining factory in Rupganj, on
the Shitalakhya River. The Thermal Evaporation System at the factory generates
refined iodized salt. The plant was built using China Heavy Machineries Corporation
(CHMC) technology. The finished product will be high-quality, free-flowing salt with
uniform, crystalline granules. The iodine content of ACI salt will be stable for at least 6
months. The project is expected to cost approximately Taka 32 crores. It has gained the
status of Brand Leader in a very short time. ACI Salt is the best of its kind since it is
vacuum-evaporated, free-flowing, and correctly iodized. It's also extremely porous and
free-flowing. Iodine is covered in every grain, making it a vital commodity for
youngsters; a lack of adequate iodine in their diet may result in mental impairment. ACI
Salt won the "BEST BRAND OF BANGLADESH AWARD 2008" for unrivaled consumer
loyalty, outperforming all other brands in the Foods & Beverages category.

Quality Policy
The aim of ACI is to achieve business excellence by understanding, accepting, meeting,
and exceeding client expectations.
ACI adheres to International Quality Management System Standards to maintain the
constant quality of products and services in order to achieve customer satisfaction. ACI
also complies with all national regulatory standards pertaining to its current operations
and ensures that current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as suggested by the
World Health Organization are adhered to for its pharmaceutical operations.
