8. Meeting called to order at 6:30pm

Prayer offered by Mr. Howard James

 Mr. Howard James expressed gratitude for the well wishes that Mentors offered as he recovered in hospital.

 The group was updated on Mr. Kashif Bernard funeral and again Mr. James expressed thanks to the group for supporting the
Bernard family.

 Mr. James updated the group on the naming of a scholarship on behalf of Kashif Bernard. Currently COBA awaits feedback form
Kashif’s mother.

 A ten minutes discussion ensued on the collection of dues related to action item number three (3) on the COBA Mentorship
Meeting action list from the previous meeting on December 12, 2018.

- The group took the decision to remove the action from the list. The group decided that no dues will be collected.

 Action item number six (6) - Specialist Mentor and visiting presenter recruitment.

- Mr. Ian Myrie gave an update and committed to generate a list using the Calabar Alumni section of the COBA webpage for
persons who can serve as presenters or specialist mentors.
- For the completion of the action the following actions were suggested:
 Identify the speakers
 Develop a schedule
 Get the schedule to Mr. Fagan/School administration
 Engage COBA to arrange equipment

 Mr. Howard James recommitted to follow-up with Mr. Valentine on the recruitment of new mentors.

9. Mentorship Moments feedback:

 Mr. Carl Marsh engaged his class earlier than other Mentors on Wednesday January 9, 2019. He remarked that the boys
proposed the following topics:
- Money Management

- How to understand females

10. AOB
 The group discussed an altercation between a student and a teacher. The group was informed that disciplinary action will follow.
