Nail Gun
A nail gun is a tool used in many fields of work, including at-home repairs, carpentry, furniture
manufacture, etc. This tool is used to nail walls, furniture, or other objects. They may also come
in different shapes or sizes and may use different size nails. For this nail gun, a 2 ½ inch nail will
suffice. A nail gun can be a dangerous object when not used correctly. There are 15 steps listed
below to ensure the proper use of a nail gun.
Materials Needed:

 Nail Gun
 Air Compressor
 2 ½ Inch Nails

Parts of a Nail Gun

Failure to follow safety instructions may result in serious injury.

1. Remove nail gun from case.
2. Load the nail gun with 2 ½ inch nails by removing the magazine cap.
3. Prepare the air compressor by turning it on.
4. Allow the psi (pounds per square inch) of the air compressor to reach 110-130.
5. Fasten the hose of the air compressor to the nail guns air plug.
6. Check for any leaks in the hose of the air compressor.
7. Place the nose of the nail gun to the work surface accurately.

8. Apply pressure to the tip against the work surface.

9. Unlock the trigger of the nail gun, this will be next to the trigger.
10. Pull the trigger, you may experience recoil.
11. Practice with the nail gun by using different angles, modes, air pressure, and nail depth.
12. Disconnect the nail gun from the air compressor once finished with the task.
13. Turn off air compressor.
14. Remove the nails from the gun by removing the magazine cap.
15. Place nail gun back into the case for safe keeping.

A nail gun is one of the most accurate tools to use when constructing. Some nail guns may
vary is sizes and nail size usage. Make sure you understand which nail size is the proper
size according to the gun and all safety instructions have been followed.
