How To Use A Miter Saw


A miter saw is a saw used to cut wood. The saw has the capability of making straight cuts on
wood up to 2in x 14in and angled cuts at 45 degrees on wood up to 2in x 10in. It’s a compact
lightweight machine weighing at 56 pounds, this helps be able to take it on the go easier. Below
I have 15 simple steps demonstrating how to use a miter saw.

• Miter saw
• Wood
• Safety glasses and ear plugs

Components of a miter saw

1. Connect miter saw to wall outlet


2. Mark wood material according to the measurement needed, taking the blade width into
account
3. Remeasure for precise accuracy
4. Clamp the wood piece until its secured down and up against the fence, tightening and
loosening as needed
5. Adjust the saw as needed such as the degree of the bevel and the miter with the cut in
mind.
6. Put on safety equipment (safety glasses and ear plugs)
7. Bring down saw blade to make sure the blade lines up on
outside line of the wood piece not used Possibility of kickback
8. Press and hold trigger until the blade is up to full speed resulting in serious injury
9. Bring down saw to the wood and cut through at a constant speed wear safety equipment
10. Let the saw blade slow all the way down before bringing back up the saw
11. Measure the size of the cut made
12. Make any size corrections if necessary
13. Unplug Miter saw from wall outlet Blade spins at high speeds
14. Dump out saw dust from dust bag and attach it back chance of serious injury or
15. Store away death
