3. Make 10 question by using Wh. Words and modals from the topics of safety rules,
then answer it completely

d. You operate a new equipment
e. You want to avoid electric shock
f. There are rest of injuring the eye
Answer
1. Safety rules is a basic rules that must be observed when we work in a laboratory. Safety
rules is so important because when we ignore the rules , it can be very dangerous. There’s
a lot of equipment and materials in a laboratory. Before attempting to operate equipment,
all relevant suppliers/ manufactures instruction and local regulations should be
understood and implemented. We have to ensure that we are fully aware of the
experimential procedures unless they are competent or supervised by a competent staff
when in a laboratory. We must know the precautions in case of contact with poisons,
corrosive or toxic materials. Brought or consumed food and smoke in laboratory is not
allowed. We also must wear self protective equipment to protect part of our body.
2. The equipment that I want to explain is slide
The slide is used for place of object in microscope measurement so the object can be
clearly. The shape of slide is square. Slide is made from glass so we have to be careful
when touching it because the slide will getting break easily. The size is also very small
and thin.
3. 1). What is safety rules about?
Safety rules is about rules that we have to known, understood and implemented
when we work in a laboratory so we can protect our body from all the potential
hazard.
2). Where the poisons and very toxic materials must be kept?
The poisons and very toxic materials must be kept in a locked cupboard and
checked regularly
3). What type of solution is dangerous to the eyes?
Alkali solution are particularly dangerous the eyes
4). What should we do when diluting contentrated acid and alkalis?
When diluting concentrated, the acid and alkalis should be added slowly to water
while stirring and the reverse should never be attempted
5). Where do the risk to the eyes come from when working in a laboratory?
Risk to the eyes may arise from powders, liquids splashes ,vapours or splinters.
6). Who supervised the studens during the experimental in a laboratory?
During the experimental in a laboratory, students should be supervised by a
competent staff at all times when in the laboratory.
7). What should we do when there is spillage in the floor?
When there is spillage in the floor, clean up any spillage immediately and
ventilate areas thoroughly using extraction equipment
8) Why students cannot operate equipment alone and should be supervised by a
competent staff?
For minimize any accident that may happen in the future.
9) Which variables should not exceed specified maximum operating conditions?
The variables should not exceed specified maximum operating conditions is
temperature, pressure,speed,etc.
10) Why must we pay attention to safety rules when we are work in a laboratory?
We must pay attention to safety rules when we are work in a laboratory because it
keeps us safe and can work well when we are in a laboratory.

and never do the reverse.
c. Don’t do something careless and don’t smoke inside the laboratory
d. Always read all the instructions of the equipment
