More on Image Sampling

1. Read in lighthouse.png file (428×642)and Lighthouse.png file downsized by a factor of 2

(214×321)

2. The most specific parts of the image where you can see aliasing effects most dramatically are
the white brick of the lighthouse, the smiley face on the meter, and the wall of the little building.
On the brick on the lighthouse and the meter, aliasing appears visually by the lack of clearness
from the original to the down samples image. On the little building, aliasing appears visually in
the second picture where the walls appear to be rippled, but in the original, the lines are clearly
defined. Down sampling often leads to aliasing as the spectral band support increases after
down sampling by a factor of the down sampling, which results in the overlap between the
adjacent frequency element, here in the case of imaging aliasing often makes the image blurry.
