a) If the role of today’s education is to prepare students for the modern world, is
it required to teach subjects like literature, music and art as part of the school
curriculum? What is your opinion on this?
b) Even though private universities have been allowed to offer many degree
programs in Sri Lanka, there is a strong view in our society that some
professional degree programs such as MBBS should only be offered by
government-owned public universities. Do you agree or disagree with this
view?
c) During this big match season in public schools, the topic of ‘student discipline’
has come to the forefront again. Some people hold the view that discipline is a
responsibility of teachers while others consider it a responsibility of parents.
What is your view on this?
