Inquiry Question: Was the capstone project beneficial to my education in post secondasy
majoring in economics

1) Capstone Project Summary:

In the box below, please type out a 200 – 300 word summary highlighting the key points and
information that you plan to present during your Capstone Project presentation.
I have a plan to create my own business to sell hockey gear to a specific country called Korea(south). In
addition, hockey is a fast-developing sport in Korea, but there is limited stock available in Korea that the
players can purchase. Moreover, the price of the gear is estimated to be higher in Korea compared to other
countries. Individuals in Korea play hockey as a hobby. There is a remote portion of people in Korea that
play elite hockey for a career. Thus, that explains that in Korea there are fewer committed players than the
players that are not committed as much. Furthermore, the gear that gets imported to Korea is high end gear
that pro level hockey players use when they play. That is one of the main reasons limiting Koreans to get
into hockey. The gear might cost between 1500$ - 2000$ in Korea just to get started. To get started I will
create my business and open a website for Koreans who play hockey in Korea or even potential players that
would like to begin in the sport of hockey. This is the goal for my capstone project which will lead to a
benefit in post-secondary studying economics. The main factor I am trying to learn out of my capstone
project is business management. To continue, I would learn that skill by either creating a significant
business or creating a fake business to learn the skills, but the website is necessary since it will help
understand the process of business.

Explain WHY you are choosing to investigate this topic as a major area of focus. How does this area of inquiry
connect to your passion(s), purpose? Why is it of personal interest to you?

I have chosen this topic since it was one of the smaller goals in my life to open up my own business, and one
day to be a founder of strong structured and well-known companies. And this is how the interest of the field
in management in business led me to choose this topic.

4 ) Background: What background knowledge / connections / prior learning do you have that can help
you to be successful with your project?
 I am currently taking economics which is a study of people making choices with the given resources, and
economics takes part in the business industry I will continue with the good work in economics to react right
when there is obstacles or helpful tips I can gain from economics class.

5) Career connections: What is your intended career area at this point in time? What connections does
this inquiry question have to your life, academic and/ or career goals? What are you hoping to gain from
completing this project (other than graduating or passing CLC 12)?

As I have mentioned previously mentioned I am very passionate about business management, and I have one
of the career options as being engaged int the business industry. So, the capstone project will help me with the
business career if I choose to.
