To start, According to the multiple selves theory, there are

different aspects of the self that exist in an individual. This
refers to the different ways an individual interact with the
different situations and circumstances in their lives. May it be
your happy self, your angry self, your emo self, and etchetera.

Next, who is Gregg Henriques

He is the person who proposed the tripartite model of

human consciousness and he describes how it provides a way
to think about the universe from an objective scientific view.
The tripartite model of human consciousness is consist of three
branches.

First we have the expe-rien-tial self.

From the word itself, expe-rien-tial, we are talking about ones
expe-rience. This is a domain of self that defined as felt
expe-rience of a being. Through experience, people gain their
personalities/consciousness that become part of their memory.

Our experiential selves are the part of us that exists in the

present and takes in all the diverse information provided by our
senses. Through our past experiences, it built the personality
we have today. Example of this is this situation. Once na
nalaman mong nangangagat pala ang pusa mo kapag
nilalambing, edi next time wag mo nang lambingin. Same goes

Due to

Moving on, we have… private self consciousness system. So for
our simple activity, try to think of something that makes you
unique. Try it.

Do you hear your mind voices saying, “cute ako promise”.

To simply explain this little activity, what you hear is

you inside your head. That is your private self consciousness

that narrate or interpret what is happening on your
surroundings that tries to make sense or to pick up of what is
happening around you. This is your consciousness that in some
situations, speaks up to you before you execute your next
move.

Hmm, example. Hmm, ano, katulad ngayon

Diba, even you

Lastly we have public self. This is you that I and other people
can see and talked to. This is the domain of self that an
individual shows to the public, and this interacts on how others
see an individual. This is the kind of self that interacts through
tens, hundreds, or thousands of people.

Actually, in my own perspective, your public self is the

combination of the expe-rien-tial and the private self. Due to
your experience, you ask your self how to interact with others
and after thinking of a good move, your public self starts doing
what you think and serve as a representative of your 2 other
self.
nila, at nakikita mo.

Example ay, ako nalang, everyone see me right? and

what you see is my public self. Tumungin ka sa salamin,
example din yan ng public self or you.

Last. Unified being, unified being is essentially connected to

consciousness, awareness, and agency. A well-adjusted person
is able to accept and understood the success and failure that
they experienced. So no more further explanations, ito ay yung

Albert Bandura, he is a psychologist and professor emeritus of
social science in psychology at stanford university. He is known
for his model of the theory of social learning. He has his theory
titled, The Social Cognitive Theory explaining that a person is
both proactive and agentic which means, we have the capacity
to control over our life.

An individual who have the control in any situation by making

things happen are called proactive self. Through my research, I
also found out that solving a problem before it has occurred is
somehow connected in our proactive self.

Proactive behavior involves acting in advance of a future

situation, rather than reacting. A great example for this, I think,
is when you set a backup plan for your 1st plan. They act as
agent in doing or making themselves as they are.

Agency is a defining feature of modern selfhood. Agents

assume some degree of ownership and control over things,
both internally and externally. The ability of an individual to
pursue their goals in life is an example of agentic approach to
self.

According to Albert Bandura, self-efficacy beliefs determine

how people feel, think, motivate themselves and behave. Such
beliefs produce these diverse effects through four major
processes the cognitive, motivational, affective and selection
processes.
To sum up, Albert Bandura think that those people who doubt
their capabilities, those people who shy away from difficult task
have the low aspirations and weak commitment to their goals.
Shyness according to him is a hindrance for a person to bloom
or to be successful. But I guess, every person, may it be sociable
or non sociable type of person, have/has their own unique way
to express their selves. But yeh, removing ones shyness is a
close step to success.

So to end the topic, always remember that no matter how

today’s experiences hit you so hard, at the end of the day, you
are still you.
