INTRODUCTION

A Digital clock displays the current time.

It displays the time digitally(in numerals) in 12 hour format as
HH:MM:SS.
The clock is built using sequential logic.
Counters, decoders and seven segment displays are used.
OBJECTIVES
To build a digital clock successfully gaining all the required knowledge.
To know about the working of each and every component and their role in
the circuit.
To apply our knowledge and understanding into practice.
SCOPE AND APPLICATIONS

Helps us to broaden our knowledge on electronic chips.

They are often incorporated into all kinds of digital circuit including devices.
They are embedded in all kinds of cell phones and computers.
The scope of study is quite large: from application of software compilers to
hardware.
COMPONENTS USED
555 Timer
Decade counter (IC 7490)
Decoder (IC 7447)
Seven Segment Display
DIP Switch
Magnitude Comparator
D-Flip flop

WORKING PRINCIPLE
The circuit basically works on asynchronous logic.

For the 12 hr. clock ,we’ve designed an appropriate logic for

each portion.

For the alarm, dip switches and magnitude comparators are

used.

The A.M/P.M display works by the toggling action of T

flip-flop and appropriate clocks are applied.

CONCLUSION

Thus, this is how our main system has been built up.
More and more knowledge involving the whole system has been
gained with time and through more research.
We have completed this project successfully and have successfully
made a 12 hour digital clock with an alarm and a A.M./P.M. display.
THANK YOU!!!
