TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS
Remarks
A. Motivation/Review  Counting objects
Show an illustration of a boy and a girl.  Reading numbers
These are Zian and Alora.  Writing numbers
Alora picked 6 red gumamelas.  Tracing the word
Zian picked 8 yellow gumamelas. more or less
Who has less gumamelas?  Drill exercises
Who has more gumamelas?  Quiz

Ask the following questions:

Who are the children in the story? (The children in the story are Alora
and Zian.)
What did each of them pick? (Each of them picked some gumamelas.)
How many gumamelas did Alora pick? (Alora picked 6 red gumamelas.)
How about Zian? (Zian picked 8 yellow gumamelas.)
Who picked more gumamelas? (Zian picked more gumamelas.)
Who picked less gumamelas? (Alora picked less gumamelas.)

B. Input
Introduce the expressions "less than" and "more than" by showing the
one-to one relationship between the number of gumamelas picked by
Alora and Zian.

Let the pupils say the following:

The number of Alora's gumamelas is less than the number of Zian's
gumamelas.
The number of Zian's gumamelas is more than the number of Alora's
gumamelas.

 Drill Exercise
Let the pupils consider another example situations.
Let the pupils tell the number of the objects in each group and compare
these numbers using the expressions "less than" and "more than".
C. Lesson Proper
Ask the pupils:
1. If the first set has less number of objects than the second set, what
expression do we use?
2. If the first set has more objects than the second set, what expression
do we use?

1. The number of objects in the first set is less than the number of
objects in the second set. We say that, "the number of objects in the
first set is less than the number of objects in the second set".
2. The number of objects in the first set is more than the number of
objects in the second set. We say that, "the number of objects in the
first set is more than the number of objects in the second set".

D. Deepening
Pupils answer the drill exercises to be given by the teacher.
Ask them to bring out their pencil and color.
Distribution of worksheets.

E. Synthesis
Let the pupils compare the two sets using the expressions "less than"
and "more than". Make sure the pupils give the correct answers. Tackle
the incorrect answers.
