Processor

Assalamu’alaikum. Hello all, good afternoon I'm currently going to present an english
assignment about flowchart. before that, lets me introduce my self. My name is Sandy Rio
Pratama i am from Computer Engineering Technology study program class TI 3B. what is
Processor

Processor can be briefly interpreted as a computer brain, processor in general is often

referred to as CPU (Central Processing Unit), which is a chip in the form of an IC (Integrated
Circuit) that controls the entire computer system, especially in carrying out instructions,
processors and is used as the center or brain of computer activities in performing calculations
and carrying out input and output tasks. The processor is located in the socket located on the
Motherboard.

Computer Processor Parts There are 3 parts of the processor component :

1. Aritcmatics Logical Unit (ALU), which serves to perform all forms of arithmetic
calculations according to the instructions of its program. This part of the ALU
basically does all forms of logic.
2. Control Unit (CU), which functions as a controller of data traffic such as inputs and
outputs on a computer. All equipment in the computer system is regulated and
controlled by the CU.
3. Memory Unit (MU), which serves as a small storage tool but has a fairly high access
speed.
functions of the processor
1) Processing Data and Information
2) Integrating All Computer Components
3) Improves Computer Performance
4) Performing Arithmetic Calculations According to Program
5) Instructions as Central to the Computer
There are two brands of processors that are commonly used in computers and
laptops:
1. Intel :
Intel stands for “Integrated Electronics”. Intel Corporation is an American
multinational corporation and technology company headquartered in Santa Clara,
California, in Silicon Valley. It was invented by Robert Noyce. It is the developer of
the first x86 processor -Intel 8086.

2. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) :

AMD stands for Advanced Micro Devices. It is an American multinational
semiconductor company based in Santa Clara, California. It was invented by Jerry
Sanders, Jack Gifford, John Carey. It started supplying x86 processors as a second
source manufacturer and became a competitor with Am386.
with this ends the presentation from me thank you for your attention and I apologize if
any of my words are wrong. Thanks for attention. see you next time.

Is to run a set of machine instructions that tell the processor what to do, based on that
instruction, the processor does 3 (three) basic things including:

1) Using ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit) is to perform mathematical operations such as

subtraction, addition, multiplication and also division. Modern microprocessors
contain floating point units that can perform very complex operations at a fairly large
number.
2) It then moves the data from one memory location to another.
3) Make a decision and jump to other instructions according to the decision.

The way the processor works will continue to be connected to other computer
components / devices, especially hard drive and RAM (Random Access Memory). The
function of the processor is also likened to a brain from a computer because every data that
will be processed or processed will always pass through the processor and then be processed
and produce the desired data from the user.
