LAN

Assalamu’alaikum. Hello all, good afternoon I'm currently going to present an english
assignment about flowchart. before that, lets me introduce my self. My name is Sandy Rio
Pratama i am from Computer Engineering Technology study program class TI 3B. what is
LAN

A local area network (LAN) is a collection of devices connected together in one

physical location, such as a building, office, or home. A LAN can be small or large, ranging
from a home network with one user to an enterprise network with thousands of users and
devices in an office or school.

A LAN comprises cables, access points, switches, routers, and other components that
enable devices to connect to internal servers, web servers, and other LANs via wide area
networks.

The rise of virtualization has also fueled the development of virtual LANs, which
enable network administrators to logically group network nodes and partition their networks
without a need for major infrastructure changes.

As for the tools used to make LAN, namely:

1. RJ-45
RJ-45 or (Registered Jack) and 45 refers to the interface standard number. It’s
got a spot for eight pins, which means that it contains eight separate wires.
standardized physical network interface for connecting telecommunications or
data equipment.

2. Twisted Pair Cable

Twisted pair cabling is a type of wiring used for communications in which two
conductors of a single circuit are twisted together for the purposes of improving
electromagnetic compatibility Cable with shielding is known as shielded twisted
pair (STP) and without as unshielded twisted pair (UTP).
The basic difference between UTP and STP. UTP (Unshielded twisted pair) is
a cable with wires that are twisted together to reduce noise and crosstalk. On the
contrary,
STP (Shielded twisted pair) is a twisted pair cable confined in foil or mesh
shield that guards the cable against electromagnetic interference.

3. Crimping Tool
A crimping tool is a gadget that is used to create a joint either between two
metal pieces or any other material with excellent malleability. Special device used
to attach a connector to the end of a phone or network cable.

4. Router
A router is a device that connects two or more packet-switched networks or
subnetworks. It serves two primary functions: managing traffic between these
networks by forwarding data packets to their intended IP addresses, and allowing
multiple devices to use the same Internet connection.
5. Switch
A switch is a determines the source and destination addresses of each packet
and forwards data only to the specific devices, while hubs transmit the packets to
every port except the one that received the traffic.

with this ends the presentation from me thank you for your attention and I apologize if
any of my words are wrong. see you next time.
