Headscarf issue in Tunisia
Citizens of the world, On e-mail

An Amnesty International report released on 13 November says that women

are being tortured for using headscarf in Tunisia. AI protests such oppression
by the Tunisian government. There are instances when a woman was forced
to take off her scarf, slapped in public and forced to wear indecent clothes.
Another woman was forced to take off scarf and even sent to prison for not
agreeing to do so. There are numerous other instances which remain
undisclosed.

We strongly voice our support to AI in protest against such heinous acts.

Every person has individual rights which none can violate. We urge the
international media to publicise the protest of Amnesty International and of
the people from all over the world.

We urge the government of Tunisia to refrain from violating the basic rights of
its people .
