Importance of 10 commandments

 in our daily life:


 These commandments help us to attain the
balance in our everyday life.
 our life as Christians
 Living the Christian life is living a holistic and
righteous life like God.
Commandment 1

I am the Lord your


God, you shall not
have other Gods
beside Me.

1. I am the Lord your God, you shall not have
other Gods beside me

 “Thou shall have no other Gods before me.”


{Exodus 20:3}
 There is only one Source, one Creation or one
God.

How to value this Commandment?


 Put God first in your life above all.

 Idolatry
 Do not worship graven images, which are
pictures, photos or idols, which are
objects.

How to value this commandment?


Proper worship is to worship only the one
God, Source or Creation
Commandment 2

You shall not use the


name of the Lord your
God in vain.

 At a practical level, swearing an oath to God


was one of the few ways that society had
and has to assure itself that a person is
telling the truth.

You shall keep Holy

 Always have time with God

 Always offer the Sabbath day to God.

insecurity.

You shall not commit

 Adultery - A relationship between a married


person and a person who is not his or her
spouse.
 “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh

on a woman to lust after her hath committed


adultery with her already in his heart”
{Matthew5:28}
Commandment 8

You shall not bear


false witness against
your neighbor
8. You shall not bear false witness against
your neighbor

 This means that “One should not lie at any


time, about anything, unless it is to preserve
your life or property.”
Valuing
This commandment means one must not
a. Spread false rumors

b. Lie (can be about money, body, oneself and

etc.)
Commandment 9 & 10
You shall not covet your
neighbor’s wife
You shall not covet your
neighbor’s goods
You shall not covet your neighbor’s (9)wife,
(10) goods

 To covet means to want to steal from


another. It does not just mean to envy. This
fascinating Commandment means you
should not seek or desire to take away or
steal that which belongs to others.
