EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This business is based on production of honey shower gel which will be processed using
machinery. The honey will be sourced locally as a way of supporting the community. The honey
process will involve the removal of wax and any other foreign materials. The general idea of the
business will be focused on offering the country a cheaper alternative source of procuring honey
shower gel. In this enterprise, efforts will be made to produce all natural, organic, and assorted
shower gel for all age groups.

The honey shower gel business is aimed to be one of the best leading businesses in Zambia. All
processes and strategies will be put in place in order to aid in employing best manufacturing and
processing practices for the product. The enterprise will work in accordance with the law and the
Zambia regulatory bodies. Our customer’s best interest will always come first, and everything
we do will be guided by our values and professional ethics. We will ensure that we hold
ourselves accountable to the highest standards by meeting our customers needs precisely. We
will cultivate a working environment that provides a human, sustainable approach to earning a
living.

The enterprise will focus on manufacturing honey shower gel on both the local market
surrounding areas across the country and other countries across the globe. As the consumer
demand arises, the enterprise will definitely add more flavour and spice to the product to meet
the demand.

INTRODUCTION
Honey is a sweet, thick liquid made by bees. The bees make honey by collecting the sugar-rich
nectar of flowers from their environment. Once the bees are inside the beehive, they repeatedly
consume, digest and regurgitate the nectar. The end product is honey, a liquid that serves as
stored food for bees. The smell, color and taste depend on the types of flowers that were visited.
Honey contains virtually no fiber, fat or protein. It contains sugars including glucose, sucrose
fructose, and maltose. It is low in vitamins and minerals but it is high in some plant compounds.
High quality honey is rich in Antioxidants including organic acids and phenolic compounds like
flavonoids.
The product that will be generated from honey is the honey shower gel. The enterprise will offer
quality body wash or shower gel. The production of honey shower gel is another way of adding
value to honey and indirectly improving the agricultural sector. The shower gel will be made for
both males and females and all age groups. It will be in liquid and cream gel form. The prices of
the shower gel will vary depending on the quantity. The shower gel will be packed in 750mls and
250mls Honey will be explored for its health benefits to the skin. The product will be sold at
whole sale and retail prices.
Although the enterprise is beginning as a small operation, the objective of the business is to
continually grow. In Order to do this, the company will slowly put-up bee hives so that the
enterprise should not be dependent on other outside sources. The company will as well open
more shops in different towns that offer the product known as honey shower gel.
In addition to make our honey shower gel extra good, it will be incorporated with other healthy
and nutritious ingredients like olive oil, turmeric.
Used as a body wash in the shower, honey will moisturize dry skin and kill bacteria that can
cause acne or body odor. To make the body wash, combine two teaspoons of honey with a
tablespoon of olive oil. To increase the spa experience, add These oils are soothing and provide a
pleasant smell.

BENEFICIAL ASPECTS OF HONEY FOR HUMANS SKIN

Honey has many skins enriching properties that bring the skin to its healthy best. The benefits of
honey for the skin are reliable to treat a few common skin ailments and various skin conditions.
Honey has natural moisturizing properties and therefore it is a great ingredient in manufacturing
body wash or shower gel. It naturally moisturizes the skin. It also helps in softening the skin’s
upper layers and deeply penetrating the skin to offer hydration to underlying skin layers.
Honey has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which play a role in removing excess
oil from the skin and clearing clogged pores, thus, preventing the cause of breakouts like
pimples, acne, blackheads and whiteheads. Honey is highly effective in helping get rid of
blackheads and can be used as a thorough pore cleansing agent that doesn’t disrupt the skin’s pH
balance. As honey contains antioxidants, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties, along
with moisturising properties, it helps to deeply penetrate the skin, soften the skin layers and
work to remove impurities from pores including dirt that causes blackheads giving the skin an
extra glow. Honey even leaves the skin tight and bouncy with a golden glow and clear
complexion.
Furthermore, honey has skin brightening properties and is also good in treating dry, oily, acne-
prone and a combination of skin types as well. It has natural antiseptic properties which help in
wound healing and fading of scars because it first works on reducing inflammation and then
helps to heal the skin faster which in turn allows the scar to fade at the same time. Additionally,
honey's unique chemical composition also makes it an effective antimicrobial agent. People have
used it to treat minor burns and scrapes, and for aiding the treatment of sore throats and other
bacterial infections for centuries.
Honey can help control the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. It provides the skin
with the right kind of nourishment to stay healthy, ample moisture, antioxidants, properties that
help repair skin and fade scars. All in all, it strengthens the skin barriers therefore delaying signs
of ageing. Applying honey on the face will help improve the skin’s elasticity, making it look
youthful and glowing.
MAKING HONEY BODY WASH (SHOWER GEL)

INGREDIENTS
Raw honey, liquid castile soap, Vitamin E oil, essential oils such as Olive Oil Castor Oil almond
oil Palmarosa Tea Tree, coconut milk, Glycerin, Shea butter, Distilled water.

Honey is the secret ingredient in this recipe, The honey should be raw, and unfiltered.
The oils in the recipe should be available in their purest form that contains the essence of the
herb/ingredient they are prepared from. Essential oils are extremely beneficial for the skin. They
not only reduce inflammation but also keep your skin healthy by getting rid of harmful free
radicals. Some essential oils also have anti-aging benefits making them perfect ingredients.
Glycerin is one of the ingredients. It is a humectant that bonds with water to keep the skin
moisturized and hydrated. Glycerin is excellent for treating dry skin and keeping it soft and
smooth. It nourishes your skin, heals it, and enhances its appearance.
There will be need of liquid castile soap for making the body wash froth without adding any
other chemical foaming agent. Unscented or scented castile soap can be used.
Vitamin E is repairing and moisturizing oil in this recipe. It is also an antioxidant that helps
elongate the shelf life of the body wash. Making it perfect as an addition to products during the
summer or winter months when the skin may be more stressed by extreme temperatures and
weather. 

PROCESS
Measure out all required ingredients.
If your raw honey is creamy and thick, warm it a bit to liquefy before combining with other
ingredients. This will allow for thorough mixing of ingredients.
Mix the honey and into the hot water until the honey dissolves.
Add the ingredients and then thoroughly mix them. Add the honey, followed by soap and olive
oils and then the essential oil.

Pour the mixture into different sized of bottles of 750ml and 250ml.

Put a brand name and all necessary labels.

Store in a cool dry place before and during distribution.

and storage houses.
