I am me. I am John Lee C. Barba, a freshman student of Iloilo State College

of Fisheries – Barotac Nuevo Campus taking up Bachelor of Elementary Education. I

was born and raised in Brgy. De La Paz, Banate, Iloilo. Living a simple life in which I

am surrounded by wonderful and precious people in my life.

When it comes to describing self, I consider this as one of my greatest

weaknesses for I cannot find a very specific adjective in order to justifiably describe

my own self. What comes first in my mind is that I am just a SIMPLE man who’s

happy and content in life aiming for success in career as well life.

I took up this course; Bachelor of Elementary Education, for I believe that it is

the foundation among all education. I believe that with my knowledge, skills, and

passion I will be an effective teacher someday. A teacher who’s loved by his learners

and a teacher who changes and inspires a lot of young one’s to persevere and strive

in life. Since I was child, I have this one teacher of mine who serves as my greatest

influencer and my inspiration why I took up this course. She is a kind of teacher

whose so kind, understanding and loving. She helps me in every way. At times that I

do not know something, she was there to educate to me. At times that I was in my

worst, she was there to comfort me and give life lessons where I could relate about

and boost myself again. She is my teacher ever since up to now. She my MOTHER

who is not an actual teacher but my greatest teacher of all time.

“Planning is bringing the future into present” – Mike Vance. It is very

important to us to have future plans so that we would have a route and a path to

follow and aims that would motivate us to strive harder and to do even better in our

present times. My future plans would be as simple as this, I will become a

professional teacher someday who has a great heart at teaching and a full passion in

imparting knowledge to my future learners. I will help my family surpass poverty and

become financially able to our daily needs and necessities. I have great ambitions

and plan in live but I always choose to keep it in silence and let my success someday

shout for me.

Being an educator is such a hard and difficult thing to do but as I have

entered this path, I already decided to become one bearing confidence, dedication,

knowledge, passion, and love in teaching within me allows me and enables me to

become fully capable of attaining and reaching my dreams in life and that is to

become a successful teacher someday. I may face a lot of circumstances and

challenges as I go along and pave my way through success and my dream to

become a teacher but it would not hinder me because I have a lot of reinforcements

around me who firmly and truly believes in me and my ability. I have started already

and there’s no going back anymore.

Lastly, I am me, I am who I am, and nothing can stop me in achieving and

reaching my dreams.
