CSTp 4.3 - Developing and sequencing long-term and short-term instructional plans
to support student learning.
● Level of Development: Integrating
○ Teacher: Created a document for students to track the weather of the
student’s chosen city/country for the next 3 weeks. They will then use
this information to write and present a weather report at the end of the
unit as their final summative project
○ Student: Chooses a city and tracks its weather by recording the date,
the symbol, high and low temperatures, humidity%, wind mph, and
inches of precipitation. They also will track the forecast for the next day
● Date: November 2-December 2
● Evidence: Tracking Form Students use this form and the website
weatherforecastkids to track the weather for their chosen city.
CSTP 4.4 - Planning instruction that incorporates strategies to meet the learning
needs of all students.
● Level of Development: Integrating
○ Teacher: In math, teacher guides students through the first 2 pages
(examples) in their Big Ideas Math Book. Then the students complete
the rest of the book pages for that lesson independently. The questions
progressively get more challenging with real life applications and
multi-step word problems. The teacher allows the students to struggle
independently, but provides support after a few attempts and we
correct the work as a whole class to check our answers and
understanding. The students who finish early can do an extension
activity, challenge activity, or go on our online math program called
Happy Numbers.
● Date: Ongoing
● Evidence: Example of one of our math lessons from this year. They are being
introduced to multiplication.
CSTP 4.5 - Adapting instructional plans and curricular materials to meet the assessed
learning of all needs.
● Level of Development: Applying
○ Teacher: Creating differentiated reading groups that go at different
paces for groups. Some groups need more assistance, some are able to
be more independent
● Date: Ongoing
● Evidence: Example of Center Rotations
