RESOLUTION REFERRING BACK THE MATTER OF THE PAYMENT OF OH

GEORGE’s REAL PROPERTY TAXES FOR TY 2020 TO THE CITY TREASURER’S
OFFICE (CTO) FOR APPROPRIATE ACTION AND RECOMMENDING THE
GRANT OF DISCOUNT TO OH, GEORGE!’S REAL PROPERTY TAXES FOR TY
2021 AS A RECOGNITION TO THEIR CONTRIBUTION IN THE FIGHT
AGAINST COVID PANDEMIC BY SERVING AS AN ACCOMMODATION TO
MEDICAL FRONTLINERS

WHEREAS, On August 26, 2020, Oh, George! wrote a letter addressed to Vice
Mayor Hon. Sebastian Z. Duterte asking for an exemption on the annual payment of
their Real Property Tax for their Land and Building particularly their Ecoland Building
(172-09-004-019-696-1001), Ecoland Land (172-09-004-019-696), Sanraf Building
(172-01-008-001-017-1001) and Sanraf Land (172-01-008-001-017) reasoning the
loss of profit sustained by the company due to the COVID-19 pandemic;

WHEREAS, Oh, George stressed that they worked hand-in-hand with the
government to serve as the accommodation for the medical front liners. Since March
26, 2020 up to the present, they offered 13 rooms for them to stay in this time of
pandemic;

WHEREAS, the City Treasurer manifested that their office cannot grant their
request to exempt the payment of Real Property Taxes for 2020 since they already
accrued and they cannot be waived. The taxes due this year has to be paid in full by
Oh, George! however, there could be a discount granted by the treasurer in the
payment of the real property taxes for next year (TY 2021) in recognition of their
contribution in this time of pandemic;

WHEREAS, the City Treasurer also manifested that he is open to adjustments

in the mode of payment and that the Operations Manager of Oh, George! can
approach him to personally negotiate the said matter;

NOW THEREFORE, RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, TO REFER BACK

THE MATTER OF THE PAYMENT OF OH GEORGE’s REAL PROPERTY TAXES
FOR TY 2020 TO THE CITY TREASURER’S OFFICE (CTO) FOR APPROPRIATE
ACTION AND TO RECOMMEND THE GRANT OF DISCOUNT TO OH,
GEORGE!’S REAL PROPERTY TAXES FOR TY 2021 AS A RECOGNITION TO
THEIR CONTRIBUTION IN THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID PANDEMIC BY
SERVING AS AN ACCOMMODATION TO MEDICAL FRONTLINERS

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this resolution be furnished to the Office

of the City Mayor through the City Administrator’s Office, and other concerned offices
for information and guidance.
