1. Tool box & safety meeting carried out.
2. Bridge & Deck anchor watches maintained.
3. Routine pump room round taken.
4. General Accommodation cleaning carried out.
5. Preparation for ship’s funnel painting carried out. Stage, Self-
retracting life line, gantline rigged. Surface washed with fresh
water prior commencement of painting.
6. Painting of funnel carried out. In progress
7. Second coat primer applied on monkey island stbd side lamp post.
8. Chipping & buffing carried out on monkey island port side lamp
post. First coat primer applied.
9. 2P COT high level/ overfill alarm spare located on board. Same
was replaced with the faulty one. High level & overfill alarm tested
& found working satisfactorily. Defect list item 23 rectified. Details
in Engine room work done.
10. Spot top coat applied on main deck above COT/WBT 2P & 2C.
11. Defect list item 36 attended. 6 blanks were prepared. All the
lines were isolated & blanked off. Will be tested tomorrow.

13. Defect list 41 attended. Second coat primer applied on 2
mushroom vent wheels of monkey island.

14. Defect list 42 attended. Stbd gangway air line bursted. 3 New
pipes fabricated for entire length as old pipe was corroded at
various places. Threads made and flange welded on other side. In
progress.
15. Wire ropes on winch M7 was adjusted by lowering in water to
fix setup for BRC testing kit. M7 winch BRC test was performed.
However, the desired pressure was not achieved for testing. Break
rendered at 280 Bars even when the brake was fully tightened.
Will be checked further tomorrow.
16. Stencilling/ marking done at various locations.
17. Worn out/ faded IMO symbols renewed at various location.
Missing IMO symbols posted at various locations.

9. Defect list item 36 rectified. 6 blanked hydraulic lines of winch M4
remote control tested that were plugged yesterday. Found no
leakage.

10. Defect list 41 rectified. Top coat applied on 2 mushroom vent
wheels of Monkey Island. Wheels fixed back in place.
11. Defect list 42 attended. First coat primer applied in 3 newly
fabricated air pipe lines of stbd side gangway.
12. Second coat primer applied on Stbd mechanical hoist rail &
motor.
13. Winch W1-1 & W2-1 BRC test was performed. The brake was
set on 69T. Pressure of 360 Kg/Cm2 was applied on W1-1 & 365
Kg/Cm2 pressure was applied on W2-1 using hydraulic jack. The
brake rendered on 69T.
14. Winch M1-2 & M2-2 BRC test was carried out. However, the
desired pressure was not achieved for testing. Break rendered at
100~110 Bars even when the brake was fully tightened. Will be
checked further tomorrow.
15. 2 faulty manifold pressure gauges replaced with new ones of
Line 4 on both sides.
16. Defect item list 26 rectified. Damaged fire hose box removed
from location. Drilled holes in new fire hose box as per L-bars to
fix hose box at the location. Fixed new fire hose box at place.
Primers and paint will be applied.
17. Second coat primer applied on lifebuoy with light securing
frame on ship’s rail on port & stbd sides near break of
accommodation.
18. EEBD inspection carried out. 2 EEBD hoods & pipe connection
found broken (engine room bottom platform & main air
compressor platform). 1 replaced with training EEBD other one
with Foam station EEBD.
19. Requisition MAR-034D-2022 raised for 2 new hoods with
fittings. 1 EEBD was filled as pressure was found less. Bubble test

done and found leaking from pressure gauge threads. Same
tightened and leakage rectified.
20. NOTE : Most of the deck staff was engaged in Funnel and mast
painting jobs in order to complete at anchorage.

5. Painting of ship’s funnel completed. Scrubber exhausts painting in
progress.
6. Final coat applied on main mast. In progress.
7. Top coat applied on monkey island port side lamp post.
8. Defect list 42 attended. Second coat primer and Top coat applied
on 3 newly fabricated air pipe lines of stbd side gangway. Will be
fixed & tested tomorrow.
9. Top coat applied on port and stbd mechanical hoist rail & motor.
10. Mooring wires were lowered from M7-1, M7-2, M8-1 and M8-2
to fix the BRC kit to the eye on the winch drums. Then heaved
back after testing of BRC.
11. M7-2 & M8-2 winch brake was found stuck with thick rust.
Same was freed prior carrying out BRC test using pneumatic chisel
& penetrating oil.
12. Winch M7-1, M7-2, M8-1 & M8-2 BRC test was performed. The
brake was set on 69T. Pressure of 364 Kg/Cm2 on M7-1, 362
Kg/Cm2 on M7-2. 365 Kg/Cm2 on M8-1 & 364 Kg/Cm2 on M8-2

was applied using hydraulic jack. The brake rendered on 69T.
Markings will be redone with new hose band fitting.
13. Base plate fabricated for new radar scanner installation on
main mast as per specs sent by Elcome. First coat primer applied.
14. Top coat applied on lifebuoy with light securing frame on ship’s
rail on port & stbd sides near break of accommodation.
15. Received stores and provisions and checked as per invoices.
Landed 6 MO2 cylinders for Hydro testing and re filling.

6. Defect list item 42 rectified. Newly fabricated air pipe was fixed &
tested. Gangway found working satisfactorily. Defect closed.
7. Superintendent & 2 Radar technician boarded the vessel. Picking
of stores & Radar fittings carried out.
8. Second coat & top coat applied to radar scanner base plate.
9. Shifting of radar scanner & fittings from upper deck to monkey
island carried out.
10. Base plate fabricated for new radar installation to be fitted
inside Bridge panel.
11. Assistance provided to radar technicians.

12. New radar scanner installation carried out on main mast.
13. Radar installation carried out inside bridge console.
14. Wiring job of radar carried out. In progress.
15. Superintended attended. Assistance provided for deck & pump
room inspection / rounds.
16. Cleaning freeing and greasing of 5 (all) foam isolation valves on
main deck carried out.
17. Inspection and cleaning of life buoy with lights carried out.
18. During testing of stbd anchor when brake was released using
the servo pump, the anchor brake shaft was broken & hydraulic
connection to brake got disconnected causing oil spill on deck
which was contained immediately. After various attempts,
compression bar was put back in position & secured. Stbd anchor
hydraulic brake system has been isolated. Incident investigation
on root cause in progress.
19. NOTE: All deck staff was engaged in securing of stbd anchor
since 1530 LT as the bar was not coming to securing position.

7. Wiring job of radar carried out. Various panelling on D-Deck &
Bridge opened for fixing new cable. In progress.
8. 4 Air & lubricating filters of port side gangway renewed. Oil filled.
9. Bosun store water tight door painted.
10. Green spot top coat painted above 1P, 2P COT/ WBT on WBT
vents, angle bar, tank domes and other deck fittings.
11. Black spot top coat applied on main deck above 1C, 1W’s COT /
WBT.
12. General meeting carried out with all ship’s crew in attendance
of superintendent. Some of the following points were discussed:
13. Importance of garbage segregation.
14. Importance of personnel hygiene.
15. Importance of drills and trainings on board.
16. Promoting safety culture on board.
17. Crew queries was discussed & acknowledged by
superintendent.
18. Complete cleaning of stbd side lifeboat carried out. Ceiling of
lifeboat was cleaned, floor was mopped & seat belts were cleaned
& arranged.

7. Assistance provided to radar technicians.
8. Bottom cover plate fabricated for radar monitor to close the
remaining space in the panel. New operation panel fitted in the
panel cover.
9. 4 Air & lubricating filters of stbd side gangway renewed. Oil filled.
10. Green spot top coat painted above 1P, 2P COT/ WBT on main
deck, COW machines, COW lines and other deck fittings.
11. Segregation and packing of garbage in cubic bags for landing for
proper disposal ashore carried out.
12. Stbd anchor hydraulic brake system was removed as per
instructions. Portable tripod & chain block was rigged for
dismantling the brake. Hydraulic brake system shifted to port
quarter for lowering.
13. 5 cubic bags of garbage, 1 stbd anchor hydraulic brake system
and 1 brake ram landed to ‘Al- Bahar-3’ service boat. Bonded
store, 6 O2 cylinders and regulator, 4 box of ship’s manual/ plans,
2 new EEBD’s received.
14. 2 radar technicians & Superintendent disembarked.
15. Complete cleaning of port side lifeboat carried out. Ceiling of
lifeboat was cleaned; floor was mopped & seat belts were cleaned
& arranged.
16. NOTE: Most of the deck staff was engaged in EGCS exhaust
painting & in removing of stbd hydraulic brake.
