Welfare Committee
The students of the clinical campus of Gregory University Uturu
have unanimously decided to present our complaints and
concerns to the college and school management as related to our
welfare.

➔ Amachara Complex (Academics)

● There is an urgent need for a college generator which would
power all classes, laboratories and offices simultaneously.
● We request an urgent approval to repair all leaking roofs and
ceilings of classrooms in the college.
● A better alternative class than the laboratory for the 400 level
A scholars.
● An official lecture end time that does not exceed 4pm.
● Provision of buses for all sets especially the final year
students who have not had access to the school bus
services for over a year.
● Reformation of the bursary unit to meet the everyday
challenges of the college growth.
 ● Provision of sphygmomanometers for pharmacology
practical and other laboratory materials.

➔ Bank Road Hostel/Ohafia Street Hostel

● Urgent demand for fans in the hostel rooms.
● Urgent demand for bulbs in the hallways.
● Urgent need for a provision store.
● Urgent need for a hostel library.
● Urgent need for regular fumigation of the hostel compound
and its surroundings.
● Need for a medical emergency unit in the hostel and a
standby vehicle for conveying scholars to the hospital in
cases of emergency especially at night (we have had a few
near fatal cases).
● Decongesting the rooms and provision of tables and chairs
for each student.
● Provision of new drying lines.
● Hostel gate departure time to be extended an hour to 8pm
and return time to 10pm as it was previously.
● Proper reorientation of staff on the need for mutual respect
between them and scholars.
● Change of cafeteria management in both hostels or
provision of a space for cooking by students. This is an issue
of utmost urgency.
● Provision of WiFi access in school complex and hostel
buildings to aid access to educational materials.

The above are our main/important demands/needs which we

have considered as necessary for our educational pursuit. If these
demands are not effected then we cannot assure the
management of maximum cooperation
