Dear Parents/Guardians,

REOPENING OF SCHOOLS

As per the Government advisory issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Directorate
General of Health Services, Government of India, students may visit the school campuses on an
entirely voluntary basis on a written consent by parents/guardians from the date the State
Government of West Bengal gives the go ahead.

As per the directive of the Directorate of School Education, Government of West Bengal, schools
have been given permission to reopen for the students of classes VIII to XII with effect from
03.02.2022, following the “Covid-19 General Guidelines on Re-opening of Schools” as laid down by
the WBBSE in the form of an advisory. Students of Classes 9 to 12 will resume their offline classes from
7th February 2022. The time table and the bus timings will be shared shortly.

The Heritage School has taken stringent measures, as per the MHRD guidelines and the advisory
issued by WBBSE, to maintain an environment of safety and security for pupils and staff with
emphasis on hygiene and sanitation on the buses and at school in the classrooms, laboratories and
the dining hall.

SCHOOL BUS:

• All school buses are regularly sanitized before bus boarding in the mornings and afternoons.
• All bus staff are periodically checked and will be wearing uniform, masks and gloves.
• A maximum of 60% occupancy will be permitted per bus and will be asked to strictly adhere
to physical distancing norms.
• Teachers will also be travelling in the same buses for safety.
• All pupils and staff will be scanned for temperature before boarding.
• All aboard the bus must adhere to respiratory etiquette.

SECURITY:

• Security personnel are periodically checked and will be wearing uniform and masks.
• There will be strict monitoring of visitors on the school premises.
• On entering the school, visitors will be scanned for temperature and will have to disinfect
their hands.

TEACHERS & STAFF:

• All teaching and nonteaching staff will be scanned for temperature on entering school.
• They will be wearing masks or face shields.
• All staff will strictly adhere to physical distancing norms.
• All staff will strictly adhere to respiratory etiquettes.

CLASSROOMS/EXAMINATION ROOMS/LABORATORIES:

• All classrooms/examination rooms and laboratories will be disinfected daily before pupils
enter the school.
• Special emphasis will be on common areas touched by pupils.
• The examination hall will have seating arrangements as specified by the guidelines
maintaining a distance of 6 feet between desks.
• Classroom doors will be kept open so that the students need not touch them.

TOILETS:

• There will be a rigorous sanitizing regime followed for all toilets on the premises.
• Dedicated house-keeping facility staff in uniform with masks and gloves will be regularly
sanitizing the toilets and common fittings.
• A maximum of 2 to 3 students will be allowed to visit the toilets at a time. Crowding will not
be permitted.
• Students/staff will need to wash hands with soap for 30 to 40 seconds before exiting the
toilets.

DINING HALL:

• The dining hall area, tables and benches, will be regularly sanitized before each batch of
pupils sit for a meal.
• The number of pupils sitting at a table will be restricted to 3 maintaining physical distancing
norms.
• Pupils will sanitize their hands before each meal and wash thoroughly with soap after their
meals.
• Sodexo staff will serve wearing masks, caps and gloves. Extreme care will be taken to
maintain physical distance at all times.
• Purchase of all food material will be from branded and authorized vendors only, maintaining
high hygienic standards.

 • Sodexo is an international company providing catering services to many renowned hospitals
especially during this pandemic. They maintain strict hygienic standards in the procurement
of raw materials and production of food.

INFIRMARY:

• There is a well-equipped infirmary and also a special Isolation ward with trained nurses to
take care of the students in the school.

PUPILS:

• Pupils are expected to wear the school uniform, carry their school ID card, mandated
masks/face shields and carry sanitizers. Wearing gloves is not mandatory.
• Pupils are advised to maintain physical distancing norms on the school buses, at school and
in the classrooms.
• Pupils with fever, cough or cold or under the mandated quarantine period are not to attend
school.
• Pupils are not to lend, borrow or share any article, stationery or food and water.
• All students will be advised to strictly adhere to respiratory etiquettes.
• Students will not be expected to carry any electronic gadgets/cell phones/devices to
school for the period of the examinations.

To assist us to make the necessary arrangements, please fill in the attached consent form letting us
know of your requirements and submit the same to the Class Teacher today by 8.00 pm.
