By Anecito P. Neri Jr.

For the first time in two years, Mintal Comprehensive High School opened its threshold to all
students for face-to-face classes for the School Year (SY) 2022-2023 on Monday, Aug. 22.
Open field, empty halls, and corridors once again were filled with students as the school
conducted its first Flag Raising Ceremony.
The said event was attended by excited learners and teachers, headed by school head Dr. Leah
M. Camilotes and the Mintal community, represented by its father, PTA President, Mr. Aladdin
de Asis with the parents and guardians.
During the program, the DepEd's Vision, Mission and Core Values were recited by the students
and the SSG officers, followed by the recognition and giving of freebies to WATCH advocates –
learners, teachers and non-teaching personnel who arrived in the school early.
Ms. Maia D. Mosqueda, school SPED Coordinator also oriented the learners with basic sign
language since the school has catered Learners with Special Education Needs (LSENS).
Dr. Camilotes, during her welcome address, emphasized the importance of education in the
lives of the students while she also presented the current situation of the school, particularly the
increase in enrollment rate, reminding everyone to be disciplined and respect the properties of
the school.
Meanwhile, PTA President De Asis in his inspirational message, informed the school, the
students and the parents about the intensification of the school’s security since the pandemic
still exists.
The event ended with the Zumba in the tune of Galaw Pilipinas, and the performance of the
school's drum and lyre.
