Introduction
The COVID-19 contagion does not only affect the health of people; it also affects the
state of education in the country. According to Social Weather Stations, the economy of the
Organization, the pandemic resulted in what we call "new normal." It is a term formerly used in
Today, the "new normal" pertains to the overall change in our lifestyle because of the
pandemic. As stated by the World Health Organization, Education follows the new normal too.
Mass gatherings are limited the government prohibits face-face classes until public safety is
assured. Private school fees were utilized to pay the teachers and employees to cover the main
elements of the children's academic life. Funds were needed for the necessary things to improve
implemented online classes in which the students will still study but through gadgets and
technology. However, in countries like the Philippines, the quality of Internet connection is poor
beside that most of the students have no access to technology because of the cause of living. That
is why DepEd stated that the atypical standard of education is a struggle for many.
As claimed by the Asia Pacific Journal of Business Review, the Philippines has an
average Internet speed of just 2.8mbps, ranking 104th among 164 countries. Furthermore, data
from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) show that only five million out of 20 million
households here in the Philippines have internet access. Distractions make it more difficult for
the students to study at home because others do not have personal space in their house.

The pandemic affects the state of education in our country but, this research focuses on
how Grace of Shekinah School (GSS) manages the needs and reaches the standards of the
students. It also includes all the different opinions, perspectives, or thoughts of some students
that they failed to share. A lot of students have lost interest in studying because of the state of
According to the College Board, financial problems are one of the things that become a
barrier to students from studying. The school has been offering discounts and making a way to
teach their students just like before. The school ensures to provide quality education for the
students in the comfort of their own homes. Video presentations compiled on the flash drive
were provided for the students' learning. GSS gives scholarships to those who excel in classes,
especially the top 1 and top 2 for the whole batch. They also implemented The Fund for
Assistance to Private Education (FAPE), a perpetual trust fund for private education, allows
Their advantages are not only about finances; it is also about the quality of learning. Most
of the students who graduated at GSS ended up as a Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and even
One of them is Ms. Danica Cortez, who graduated as a Magna Cum Laude at Dr. Yanga's
Colleges. She stated that “I’m very much thankful that I graduated my high school year from
Grace of Shekinah School, not just thankful but definitely beyond blessed. GSS taught me how
to be independent. What matters most is this school, GSS, is one of the reasons why I am the
Magna Cum Laude and also my steppingstone to achieving my dreams. I’ll treasure this for the
rest of my life.”.

This study encourages the students to see the state of the school in this time of the
pandemic. People think that education is irrelevant and fail to see the adjustments that the school
has been making because all the situations are equal. Both schools and students are adjusting to
However, because of this pandemic, online learning suddenly forced both students and
schools to engage in digital technologies, which the school failed to provide because there is
insufficient government support. Making teachers and students suffer from the situation.
The state of Education in GSS seems too different from before but it's still making some
adjustments for the students to learn and to adapt new knowledge that can help them for their
According to Nelson Mandela, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can
use to change the world.". It is something that can create a better world even in this time of the
pandemic.
The researchers think that education is a lot more valuable now because of the pandemic.
Many of the students struggle to obtain new knowledge due to the lack of experience because of
safety protocols. The students are limited to study within their houses. By learning amid a crisis,
students can have more ways to obtain knowledge that will help in the future. Education is still a
must because the pandemic made people realize how valuable life is.
GSS is where quality education meets affordable tuition. Their education is not just about
the numbers, reading, languages, and histories, but they also educate the children with core
values, mission, and vision. In that way, this school also helps the students' personal life and way
of living. School is where you meet your friends, even if it's face-face or through online classes.
In studies, there are also experiences with your teachers and classmates that you will need to

This research aids students who are studying, teachers who are always teaching, and
parents who are educating their children amid a crisis. Knowledge will help to reform the
existing problems, which are not beneficial to humans during the pandemic.

The researchers seek to examine the state of education at Grace of Shekinah School
during the pandemic. This topic includes all students, teachers, staff, and management at the
school, as well as how they continue to operate and give quality education to the students. This
topic is significant because it shows how this school functions during a pandemic and how
parents who want their children to attend school feel about it. Most schools nowadays want the
best for their students, and they still want to provide education to children during this pandemic,
thus this topic explains how they will provide adequate education to their pupils.
This study will mainly identify and assess the state of education in Grace of Shekinah
School during the pandemic. Also this study yearns to identify on how the researchers can
develop and assist the affected students, teachers, staff and management at the school. Each of
the respondents are given the same questionnaires to answer. And this study will be conducted

Conceptual Framework
The framework shows the challenges and the opportunities that impacted the state of
education. The state of education has faced challenges, from maintaining student engagement to
online classes to the financial stability of every student. But it also opens opportunities for them
to hone adaptability and optimize education through online learning.
These challenges and opportunities help everyone to create strategies to bring or maintain
the quality of education. The framework shows how the state of education gets affected because
of the pandemic.

Methodology
A. Research Design
The research was performed using a case study, participants-observation qualitative research
methodology. According to the researchers, interviewees indicate that online learning is
becoming a necessity in the future. Constant challenges during this time determine how
innovative and prepared students and schools are. The majority of the respondents face problems
because of online learning; These problems are (a) financial, (b) internet connectivity, (c)
adaptability struggle and, (d.) self-motivation. These problems also serve as challenges for
students during online learning.
The migration to a new learning space has faced several concerns relating to policy,
pedagogy, logistics, socioeconomic factors, technology, and psychosocial factors (Varea &
González-Calvo, 2020). Challenges may be in but, this is the best opportunity for everyone to
solve the problems in the state of education.
B. Research Locale
The research was performed out online in order to learn more about the situation of education
at Grace of Shekinah School during the pandemic. This research will be conducted on Grace of
Shekinah School students in grades 10 to 12. Grace of Shekinah School was founded on
December 8, 1998, and its name means "God's Presence" or "God's Dwelling Place".
Government recognition was granted to the GSS Pre-School Department on March 22, 1999, the
Grade School Department on June 4, 1999, the High School Department on February 18, 2002,
and the Senior High School Permit on 2015, accordingly.
C. Research Subjects
Page | 12
Grace of Shekinah School
Senior High School – K-12 Education
Because our research focused on the state of education, we chose 30 students in grades 10,
11, and 12 from Grace of Shekinah School as respondents. The criterion we used was who was
aware of or had sufficient knowledge of the state of education in our school when the pandemic
struck.
D. Research Instrument
The researchers utilized a qualitative questionnaire in their study.
Because the research is relevant and worthwhile, these questions are reliable for the outcome.
It also provides insight into the research methodology. Because these questions are researchable,
they provide further information regarding the research topic.
It can be answered by conducting research and/or simply considering the situation. In
addition, the questionnaire does not make the respondents work too hard.

Summary
The researchers study the state of Education in Grace of Shekinah School during the
pandemic with the use of the data they gathered. The research shows the importance of education
in this time of the pandemic, how the school cope up with the new normal and how they reach
the standard of the students.
In the collected data, the researchers had a lot of information about the school and use it
as evidence to support the research. The Grace of Shekinah School adapts to the new normal by
giving some learning materials to the students with the use of flash drives with video
presentations and online class sessions. They use it to affect the student's knowledge just like in
their face to face classes before and for the students to adjust properly. When it comes to
finances, the school offers scholarships or FAPE (Fund for Assistance to Private Education) as
financial assistance to the students to reduce their tuition fees.
The Grace of Shekinah School didn't fail to provide lessons that can help the student's
knowledge and use it in the near future. In this time of the pandemic, both students and school
are adjusting just to fit in the new normal and still providing a good quality education that
reaches the standard of every student and still teaching them just like before but in a different
way.

Conclusion
According to the study, the Grace of Shekinah School handled online classes successfully
this school year throughout the pandemic and will do much better in future online classes if face-
to-face classes are not established. The grace of Shekinah School's online lessons has also
received positive feedback. No one complains about the school's system, and the researchers
observed how the school runs its online lessons during the pandemic, and some of the
researchers polled several grades 10-12 students about their views on the school system they are
exposed to on a daily basis. Students said the school's current teaching technique helped them
understand the teachings since they were provided pre-recorded films of the teacher discussing
the lessons. Also, some students believe that the school should introduce distance and blended
learning in the school year 2021-2022 because, if face-to-face classes are permitted, it would be
much easier for them to understand the lesson, and they say that they will be glad about it. And,
in general, the chosen respondents say that they have a hard time focusing in their online classes
because of the distractions around them, and that some students are unable to maintain a stable
internet connection, making using only a data connection extremely difficult for them, so they
long to return to school. Some students claim that the tuition charge is not a problem, but that the
tuition fee in face-to-face classes is significantly lower than in online classes. Overall, the
researchers believe that students feel that Grace of Shekinah School does a good job of handling
the flexible learning bubble.

Recommendations
According to the researchers, the survey offers numerous possibilities about the
efficiency of online classes for students in Grace of Shekinah School. According to the survey,
the school assisted the respondents in adapting to flexible learning, but it was not the greatest at
dealing with the new structure of education. The researchers, in particular, make the following
recommendations based on the survey's findings: (A) The school must find new techniques to
ensure that everyone in an online class learns. (B) For everyone to simply comply, the school
must regulate the number of activities per week. (C) The school must provide extracurricular
activities that will help the students to engage more in school activities.
