Introduction
The project is designed to ensure equal opportunities to ensure that the people have
access to essential resources, including healthcare, food and water, communication and
transport systems, banking and finance services, and government facilities. The project also
ensures that the residents are protected from threats to life and the destruction of property.
The project for the Mitigation and recovery of the city is majorly to foresee the providence of
essential resources to the city's inhabitants (Ivanova et al, 2020). It is the essential resource
that will help achieve the equality aimed at by this project. Different essential resources play
a role in ensuring that equality is achieved and that there is comfort in the lifestyle that people
are leading.
The project will ensure the availability of the essential resources for the survival of
humanity by exploiting the locally available resources. Using available resources such as
water for irrigation to ensure food security and available architectural services in constructing
facilities such as proper housing and infrastructure will see the city's development suit its
expectations as a capital city. The project will utilize the available resources such as land to
The mitigation process begins by ensuring the communication and technology sectors
approximate the period at which a hazardous occurrence is likely to occur and hence facilitate
the avoidance of the situation (Belleville et al, 2018). Proper communication plays a role in

them from being victims of the hazard. For instance, in the case of tornadoes, the inhabitants
can use proper technology and communication to provide information for them to relocate
In the mitigation and recovery attempt of the city, there is a need for sufficient
planning to ensure that the intended results are achieved. Planning should cover all the threat
areas and provide possible solutions to solve the situations in question. Planning should
include the resources to facilitate the mitigation process (Belleville et al, 2018). In the
Mitigation and recovery of the city, there is a need for the government to develop strategies
to advance the research and technology of the city. The advancement of research enables
Plans for the security of the city are important. The project includes the strategies to
put in place to ensure that the citizens are protected from attacks from terrorists. The city can
ensure that the borders are protected by ensuring there are members of the security agent that
guard the town's borders against terrorist attacks. Other plans to promote the town's security
are enacting rules to govern the settlement in the town. The town has a multiracial settlement;
there is a need to enact laws to enable peaceful coexistence in the town. There is also a need
to have active patrolling police to promote security (Belleville et al, 2018). For security, plans
on having an active police unit in the town are essential. Diplomatic relations can also be
established with the potential rivalries in the city to prevent the occurrences of the attacks.
In the case of floods, the city can construct floodwalls and evacuation routes. The
strategy is an attempt to spread the channels through which the water flows to prevent the

occurrence of floods (Fawzy et al, 2020) . The government can put up different channels
through which the water can be drained other that the natural channels that the water takes.
The channels will help with better drainage of the excess water, reducing floods. As a
prevention measure, there is a need for the government to discourage settlement near places
that may lead to exposure to destructing as a result of flooding. The government can also opt
where the artificial trenches have little or no impact on better drainage. The architectural
designs in the town can also be improved, that is, by having the houses in the flood-prone
areas raised. Both drainage and wind hazards can be prevented by covering vegetation such
as trees (Meyer et al, 2020). Vegetation will help absorb potentially excess water, which may
lead to flooding. Trees are also important in scenarios of strong winds, whereby they help
curb the speed through which the wind moves. Vegetation also acts as a barrier by preventing
and research. Unlike all other calamities affecting the town, the prediction of seismic
occurrences needs investment. The town needs to research seismology. The town needs to
pull up resources to facilitate extensive research on the causes of seismic occurrences such as
earthquakes. The research will help map the areas prone to seismic occurrences. It is also
essential to invest in technology to curb come up with strategies to control situations resulting
from earthquakes and related seismic forces. The technology and research enable predictions
that are at least accurate to help the population avoid the harshness of the impacts that can
arise from the situation (Belleville et al, 2018). The seismic occurrences mitigation is one of
the hardest ones to execute as its occurrences depend on predictions that are not always
accurate.

To have the town recover its potential, there are different sectors on which emphasis
is necessary. They include the establishment of technology. Technology can help in most
aspects to recover the town; technology impacts architecture and relay of information.
Technology is the core aspect that all other mitigation processes depend on. Mitigation of the
town is essential to help it develop as a capital city. The importance of guaranteed safety by
inhabitants necessitates the mitigation procedures. All the processes on mitigation are aimed
