Pre-Start-Up Checklist, All NO checks require an explanation in the comments section. YES NO
A. Is the unit free of visible shipping damage, corrosion, or paint problems?
B. Is the unit installed level and isolator springs properly installed (if applicable)?
C. Does the unit meet all location, installation, and service clearances per IM Bulletin?
D. Does electrical service correspond to the unit nameplate?
E. Has electrical service been checked for proper phasing at each circuit power terminal block?
F. Has the unit been properly grounded?
G. Has a proper fused disconnect and fuses or breaker been sized per product manual and installed per
local code?
H. Are all electrical power connections tight?
I. Have the separate power source of 1 phase/ 220V available for each chiller controls.
J. Does all field wiring conform to the unit electrical wiring diagram?
K. Has the field wiring for pump interlocking been done as per the electrical schematic?
L. Are all system hand valves properly positioned?
M. Has a flow switch been installed properly and calibrated correctly?
N. Has water pressure gauges and temperature sensors been installed in the chilled water pipeline?
O. Has chilled water been operated and flow balanced to meet the design requirement?
P. Are there access taps in the evaporator entering and leaving chilled water lines to record water
pressures and temperatures?
Q. Has the chilled water circuit been cleaned, flushed with temporary bypass line, and performed water
treatment?
R. Has a water quality treatment certificate from 3rd party specialist been provided prior to commissioning?
S. Does the chiller water piping conform to the IOM manual & Strainer installed inlet to chiller evaporator
water pipeline? (Strainer mesh size must be between 0.8 mm to 1.2 mm).
T. Chilled water system type - Primary only/Primary Secondary/Variable primary flow
U. Is this job a BAS interfaced controlled site? LON BACNET MOD BUS

V. Verify the building automation control sequence and describe it under notes?
W. Has the unit been leak checked and are any leaks found listed under notes?
X. Have outputs been tested using the service test mode?
Y. Does the system have sufficient water loop volume prior to commissioning?
Z. Does Building have a sufficient load of at least 50% of the unit capacity?

Note:
1. This checklist must be filled and returned to SKM at least 2-3 working days prior to
commissioning of the chillers.
2. The Authorized representatives of the installing MEP Contractor must be present at site during
commissioning.
3. Any field wiring, installation/modification of any parts will not a part of prestart up/startup
activities unless it is pre-defined in the scope of chiller commissioning.
4. If the chiller is commissioned and run-on site Generator is not on permanent power supply
then it will be the responsibility of the end-user to supply and maintain the proper voltage
supply, frequency, and phase rotation as per design requirement. Any damages caused to the
unit due to not maintaining the voltage, frequency and phase rotation will not be covered in the
product warranty by SKM.
