Preface

As the twenty first century get under way, the hotel industry is in a great
state flux. The hotel catering industry is now becoming widely known as
‘’Hospitality industry’’.
The industry was previously defined by its products which satisfied the
basic need of food drink and accommodation. But now the definition has
charged subsequently. It is today defined by the way of service of these
basic needs.

Apart from this the priority of industry today is centered on guest

satisfaction value for money feeling, latest trends and techniques , therefore
in this training report, I have tried to include my experience of new trends
in the industry along with the basic elementary skill

The report begins with on introducing to hospitality ‘’although it is huge

area to write upon I tried to include as much as possible in my report.

It is followed by and introducing to the hotel Radisson Blu Resort. I have

also covered my training schedule and my observation during the training.

Last there is brief conclusion to report and few recommendations other

then the hotel property. I hope my training report will meet all your
expectations.

Observation & Experience

While I have done training in Radisson Blu Resort, Goa, I have

observed lot of things. I have observed the real or practice life of hotel
while I was studying in department I have only theoretical knowledge
and learn much more things but only by theories, we also make practical
of food production department are going only according to the schedule
such as once in a week but in hotel industry it is a routine work and
going on daily basis.
Therefore I observed and learn the real or practical things of hotel
industry.
The training is my Specialization training in my course for last
semester. I have learned lots of the things and also get an experience.
Experience that how we handle any situational problems, how use and
control the staff, how we make our self professional and much more
things.

It is very good experience for me; I never forget to it my whole life. Staff
was better more than my expectation.
I would like to say thanks them…….

Conclusion
Making a profit or profit maximization seems the only objective of the
hotel. Since the term like wealth maximization higher productivity of
resource utilize, organization efficiency etc. There is no difference
between Manager and Owner of the present hotel, therefore one question
of wealth maximization.
They don’t required any other things to the hotel Radisson Blu Resort
for doing much more better because they have all the things which is
required to any property, but I have some suggestion by the help of
which they can make much better. Such as their lack of staff because
they can expand their property of which they required completely extra
staff, when I was trainee there. It is very difficult for staff as well as
some time create problems for the hotel such as delay in work. Because of
which hotel face the problems, the room was not ready on time and affect
the goodwill. If it is going continue then they can totally lose their
business. Anyway, I have that one very good suggestion.

History of Goa
Goa is a small state situated on the western coast of India. It was
liberated from the rule of Portuguese in 1961 and is considered as
the 25th State in the Union of States of India. In 30 May 1987, it
became a separate state.
Located on the Western Ghats of Konkan, Goa is known as the
smallest and the fourth smallest populated state of India. Goa is
bounded by Maharashtra to its north, eastern and southern
boundaries were formed by Karnataka, while the western coast is
formed by Arabian Sea. It is also considered as the richest Indian
state.

The largest city of Goa is Vasco da Gama while Panaji is the

capital. Margao is known as the historic city of Goa that reflects
the Portuguese culture. It is because the Portuguese landed here
as merchants first and conquered the land in the early 16th
century.

International and domestic tourists visit this tiny state every year,
in a large number. Tourists are attracted to its golden beaches,
architecture and places of worship. It is a biodiversity hotspot and
is rich in flora and fauna.

Goa is known for sharing harmonious relationship among its

various religious communities, living peacefully for generations.

Cabo-de- Rama fort
Portuguese claimed the Cabo de Rama Fort after defeating the Raja
(King) of Soonda and renovated it subsequently. In the past, the fort has
switched hands between Hindu, Muslim monarchs and the Portuguese
and witnessed many battles in history. The present rickety structure
with turrets and rusty cannons is a leftover of the Portuguese. The
Portuguese equipped it with 21 guns and military barracks, as well as
commandant quarters and a chapel. It was abandoned when the
Portuguese left this place. Later, this fort housed a government prison
till 1955 and was abandoned again. Today, this fort is in ruins, but is a
popular tourist attraction of Goa.

Attractions
Inside the Cabo de Rama Fort, there is the church of Santo Antonio
which is in excellent condition and is still used by devotees. The white
church and the black fort provide a photographic picture of stark
contrast. People come here to pray and just enjoy the mystical
atmosphere of the fort. Cliffs drop steeply to the sea provide a panoramic
outlook of the surrounding areas, at the western side of the fortress. The
fort provides majestic views of the entire length of Colva beach and the
Canacona stretch.

Fort Aguada
The fort was constructed in 1612 to guard against the Dutch and
the Marathas. It was a reference point for the vessels coming
from Europe at that time. This old Portuguese fort stands on the beach
south of Candolim, at the shore of the Mandovi River. It was initially
tasked with defense of shipping and the nearby Bardez sub district.
A freshwater spring within the fort provided water supply to the ships
that used to stop by. This is how the fort got its name: Aguada, meaning
Water. Crews of passing ships would often visit to replenish their fresh
water stores. On the fort stands a four-storey Portuguese lighthouse,
erected in 1864 and the oldest of its kind in Asia. Built in 1612, it was
once the grandstand of 79 cannons. It has the capacity of storing
2,376,000 gallons of water, one of the biggest freshwater storages of the
time in whole of Asia. This fort is divided in two segments: the upper
part acted as fort and watering station, while the lower part served as a
safe berth for Portuguese ships. Whereas the upper part has a moat,
underground water storage chamber, gunpowder room, light house and
bastions, it also has a secret escape passage to use during time of war
and emergency. The lighthouse at initial stage is used to emit light once
in 7 minutes. In 1834 it was changed to emit light creating eclipse every
30 seconds, however it was abandoned in 1976.
