Dear Ma’am/Sir,

Heilmeier once said, “Every Nurse was drawn to nursing because of a desire to care, to serve, or to help.”
As it may appear, nursing is more than simply a profession, it is a vocation, which is an honorable and
needy of commitment.

Hi, my name is Nicole Ashlee D. Yamson, and I am currently graduating as senior high school student in
the strand of STEM at one of the prestigious schools here in the province of Bataan, Bataan Christian
College Inc. where I am currently awarded with Highest Honor in my class for the 2 nd quarter of 1st
semester. I am pleased to inform you that I’m writing to you to showcase my interest in applying for the
admission in college of nursing at Angeles University Foundation. As an aspiring nursing student, I have
chosen your university for it is my dream school. I’m amazed so far of the achievements of your nursing
course as I’ve seen the topnotchers records of AUF graduated nursing students and through the years the
ranked are consistently high. In addition, I have found out that AUF is good for medical related courses
including medical school. And this institution, offers high quality education that resulted to most of the
students graduated with high GWA. I can’t wait to be one of those graduated students as I am assuring
you to be a committed nursing student academically and in-giving my services.
As my journey until today, I became an introvert yet ambitious person, before I want to be a teacher then
a business owner as it was my father’s dream for me. But what I want to be is a medical doctor and for
my pre-med course I want to take nursing. I stand for the sake of my ambition, since I’ve already
imagined myself having a medical career profession and knowing myself, no hindrances can stop me
from working hard to achieve it. Growing up, my social skills tend to get worst that became one of the
reasons why I want to take nursing as a pre-med course, to enhance those skills I am lacking with. In our
household, I assumed that I am the one whose more likely to search on credible sources on Internet, some
of symptoms and even from only what I observe that’s been felt by my family. In that way, I can know if
one of us is experiencing specific symptoms for a serious illness. I’m also the one who convince my
family to have regular check-up since licensed doctors are only the ones who is eligible in diagnosing a
disease. I know that doctors are the only one who can do what I’ve been doing, so please don’t get me
wrong as I am just sharing my behaviors that helped me to realized what is my dream career.
For my school’s involvement, I’ve been engaging on extracurricular activities in our school such as
science quiz bees and science race games representing my class in junior high during an event held in our
campus. I’ve never experience being the champion of the both said activities thus, I only joined to gain
new knowledge and strategies while enjoying the opportunity of learning experience. Although these
activities might not be a great achievement for everyone, I considered it one since I became more
competitive and eager to learn more about how the science works. I joined school clubs like The Youth
for Environment in Schools-Organization (YES-O) and science club but never comes in my mind to elect
myself as an officer for those mentioned clubs. Although I’ve been liked that, I actively joined some of
the activities they offered. I was once elected as an officer of a religious-related club for the position of
secretary. I engaged myself on attending meetings and suggesting ideas such as for making an
appreciation greeting for the whole Junior High School faculty on Valentine’s Day. We also do devotions
in our meeting that makes me praise God more since the club enlightens me of the words of him.
Aside from my extracurricular activities in my elementary years I’ve been a consistent top student while
in junior high since my 8th grade I have always been an honor student and graduated with High honor. Yet
my awards are the evidences of my hard works through the years academically, I consider the things that I
can accomplish once I am a nursing student and a doctor after more valuable. I hope to learn more about
health care research, management, policy debates, and patient advocacy at your institution. As well as
being accountable in medical and community environments for enhancing the health of people, families,
and communities.
I would highly appreciate to have an accepting letter in response for this one I wrote to apply in College
of Nursing at Angles University Foundation.

Yours Sincerely,

Nicole Ashlee D. Yamson
