1) Mindfulness

The quality or state of being conscious or aware of something.

It is also becoming more aware of what you are thinking and doing- what is going on in your mind and
body.

I pledge that I will be conscious of my surroundings and pay attention to the activities taking place.

2) Forgiveness

Forgiveness is not only a result, but a process of letting go of the past and opening to the future.

It is a way of releasing ourselves from the past, the burden of our own false expectations, and from the
pain we have experienced at the hands of others.

I pledge that if ever I come across an event where I have been caused harm or hurt,

I will be the first person to let go of it and move on with a fresh perspective.

I will hold no grudges and will move on by choosing peace.

3) Courage

Courage is the voluntary willingness to act, with or without varying levels of fear, in response to a threat
to achieve an important, perhaps moral, outcome or goal.

I pledge that my hands will reach out to those in need, and my words will speak up for those who
can’t.

4) Humility

Humility is the quality of being humble.

It is the ability and willingness to honestly accept strengths and weaknesses, and not act and feel
prideful or arrogant.

I pledge that I will always approach my friends and classmates with kindness and will never be rude to
them.
5) Empathy

Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another person.

It can be defined as an effecting response due to the comprehension of another’s emotional state that is
considered to be similar to what the other person is feeling.

I pledge that I will be more understanding and will take responsibility to help and support my friends
whenever they need me.

6) Gratitude

Gratitude is the quality of being thankful;

Readiness to show appreciation and to return kindness. It is maintaining a habitual focus towards
noticing and appreciating the positive in the world, without an expectation of future outcomes.

I pledge that I will value every relationship and be thankful for all the blessings in my life.

7) Self-Compassion

Self-compassion entails being warm and understanding toward ourselves when we suffer, fail, or feel
inadequate, rather than ignoring our pain or flagellating ourselves with self-criticism.

I pledge that I will give myself a chance if I ever fail to achieve my goals.

8) Integrity

Integrity is the ability to gauge the difference between right and wrong.

It is also what we say, what we do, and what we say we do.

I pledge that I will not get involved in any wrong doing and in case if I witness one, I will immediately
report to an elder.
9) Altruism

Altruism is the ability and willingness to help others.

It’s a mindset that can last a lifetime. When a student develops a spirit of co-operation, empathy and
generosity, these qualities enhance every lesson learned in the classroom and beyond.

I pledge to use my skills and abilities to help others.
