POCKET FOX!

Measures 16cm from nose to tail!

The fox’s body and belly are knitted from tail to nose,
in long strips that are then sewn together, so you
don’t need double pointed needles! The ears and
legs can either be knitted completely separate to the
body, and then sewn on (this is what I did but it was a
lot more fiddly than I expected!), or created by
picking up and knitting stitches on the fox’s body.

THE FIDDLY BITS…

Line the belly piece up with the body, as shown above. Then, sew up the tail (Side A to B)!
Sew the belly to the body, making sure to stuff the head and body before the gap is too small, and
weave in any loose ends.

EARS (make 2)

Cast on 3 sts in main colour (or pick up 3 sts of side of fox’s head)
1. K3
2. P3
3. K2TOG, K1
4. P2TOG

To create the white middle of the ears, embroider an upside down ‘V’ shape in the contrasting colour
on them.

BACK LEGS (make 2)

Cast on 4 stitches in main colour, or pick up 4 stitches on the side of the fox’s body
St st for 7 rows in main colour
K1, K2TOG, K1
St st for another 4 rows
Change to contrast colour, and st st for 4 rows
Cast off! Leave a relatively long tail to sew up with

FRONT LEGS (make 2)

Cast on 3 stitches in main colour, or pick up 3 stitches on the side of the fox’s body
St st for 11 rows, or to the length you want
Change to contrast colour and st st for 4 rows
Cast off, leaving a relatively long tail to sew up with

Sew up the legs, long side to long side, attach to body if you’ve knitted them separately and weave in
any loose ends.
Finally, it’s time to embroider the fox’s features! I used two French knots for eyes and a couple of
stitches for the nose, but this can basically be done however you want!

And, Tah Dah! The pocket fox is complete!
