Shrek
Yarn: Beige, Brown, Blue *Portions are worked in Legend – not all stitches are
continuous rounds, use a stitch used in this pattern.
and Ogre Green marker at the beginning of ch – chain
Materials: USG6/4.00mm each round.

Feet and Legs x 2

With Blue, Chain 2


1- 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6)
2- 2 sc in each st (12)
3- 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st (18)
4-5- sc around (18)
6- sc2tog, 1 sc in next st (12)
7- sc around (12)
8- 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st (18)
9- 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 2 st (24)
10- sc2tog, 1 sc in next 2 st (18)
11- sc2tog, 1 sc in next st (12)
Fasten off Blue and change color to Brown
12-14- sc around (12)
15- 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st (18)
NOTE: Pinch together Round 7 & 11, with Rounds 8-10 pushed out, use Blue to sew them
together to create a ‘fold’ for the shoe.

Fasten off Green and change color to Beige

15- turn, ch 1, 1 sc in 12 st (12)
16- turn, ch 1, sc2tog, 1 sc in next 2 st, 1 hdc in next 4 st, 1 sc in next 2 st, sc2tog(10)
17- turn, ch 1, sc2tog, 1 sc in next st,1 hdc in next 4 st, 1 sc in next st, sc2tog (8)
18- turn, ch 1, sc2tog, 1 hdc in next 4 st, sc2tog (6)
19- turn, ch 1, 1 hdc in next 4 hdc sts [skipping the 2 sc2tog sts] (4)
20- turn, ch 1, 1 sc in each st all the way around the outside, sl st to fasten off. (20)
Sew onto either side of the body.
Vest
NOTE: ch 1 is not included in st count
With Brown, Chain 37
1- turn, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and each st across (36)
2- turn, ch 1, 1 sc in each st across (36)
3-5- turn, ch 1, 1 sc in next 5 st (5)
6-7- turn, ch 1, 1 sc in next 4 st (4)
8-11- turn, ch 1, 1 sc in next 3 st (3)
Fasten off. Attach Brown to the other side of Row 2 and repeat Rows 3-11 on that side and
fasten off. Count in 6 sts from last worked stitch of Row 2, cont.;
3- 1 sc in next 14 sts (creates 2 6 st holes for arms) (14)
4-10- turn, ch 1, sc across (14)
11- turn, ch 1, sc across, attach to the top of the front vest portion, sc across, down
the side, along the bottom and back up the other side of that front vest portion, across the
top and reattach to the start of Row 10. Fasten off and weave in ends. Use your tapestry
needle to further secure any spots you feel might need a lil extra support!
Once you put the vest over his arms, use your tapestry needle and a length of Brown yarn to
lace up the front of the vest. Tie in a knot and trim away the extra length.

Ears x2
With Green, Chain 2
1- 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6)
2-3- sc around (6)
4- 2 sc in each st (12)
Fasten off. Sew Round 1 onto either side of his head.

Nose
With Green, sew his nose in the middle of his face.
For his facial features I used embroidery thread to create 2 eyes, a mouth and his eyebrows.
