INTRODUCTION
For years in Nigeria it has been a belief that air travel is only affordable to the affluent due to its
high cost which has made transportation difficult to the average Nigerian thereby creating a huge
burden on the road transport industry.

In Nigeria there has been a low level of awareness to aviation at grassroots level due to lack of
exposure.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES

The aim and purpose of this project is to construct a simple ultra-light aircraft for experimental
purpose.

Objective of this project is;

 Improve availability of affordable light aircraft for Nigerians

 Create opportunity for further research on improvement to meet required engineering
standards and demands.
 To see that light aircraft are locally constructed to reduce cost of importation and
maintenance
 To solve some agricultural challenges and difficulties by its crop-dusting capabilities i.e.
for spraying of insecticides and fertilizers on crops especially in large scale farming.

 Affordable basic pilot training

 Sports/recreation cross country travelling

By the few applications listed above, it will improve the economy, develop science and
technology, improve industrialization and locally made product thus, reducing the burden
of importation of products.

PROGRESS REPORT
Since the aircraft is a modified replica of the BKFLIER which is a company we are in contact with,
we relate all the necessary details of our construction so as to authenticate the performance of our
aircraft. with the use of standard aviation simulation and engineering CAD software, no expense
was spared to get the same result. Thus, the progress so far;

The project was built to 70% completion using aircraft grade aluminum with the just the
following left to get project airborne:

 Wings (2024 T3, 6061 T6)

 Landing gear
 Engine mount
 Instrumentation
 Propeller

From the cart, the estimated amount for completion is $4779.60 which may be lower if most of
items can be locally sourced.
