1. Intrapersonal- this refers to communication that centers on one person where the speaker acts
both as the sender and the receiver of the message. Example of this is meditation, monologue,
dreaming, thinking, etc.
2. Interpersonal- this refers to communication that involves two or more individuals for exchange
of information on a topic that they find engaging. This type of communication establishes
personal relationship between and among them. Example of this is comforting a friend, talking
about a book you read, etc.
3. Small group- this type of communication consists of a small collection of people who interact
with each other, usually face to face, over time in order to achieve a desired goal.
4. Public-this occurs when a single speaker engages in dialogue in a sphere in order to deliver a
message to a large audience. Example of this is hosting an event, reporting in class, etc.
5. Mass-this is a process whereby media organizations produce and transmit messages to a large,
widespread audiences through diversified communication technologies. Example of this is TV
commercials, sharing or posting vlogs on social media, etc.
