Date and Objectives Detailed Description of Experiences Hours
Times Met (CCPOs
and/or PGCs
09/02/22- PGC- 1,7,8 I went and observed/helped with clinical skills for the LNA students. 6 hours
7am-11am, This allowed me to see how the nursing instructor was able to
12pm-2pm demonstrate the skills to the students in a way they understood and
she was always willing to answer questions they had. I was able to
see and learn how important it was to demonstrate to the new LNA
students the proper and safe way to care for their patients.
09/09/22- PGC- 2, 3 I participated and helped in teaching the LNA students to learn their 6 hours
7am-11am, skills. I demonstrated the skill and then I helped the students as
12pm-2pm needed. I taught evidence-based skills that will prepare them to take
their exam and care for those that will be under their supervision.
09/19/22- PGC- I again observed and then participated in teaching the students more 6 hours
7am-11am, 1,2,3,7,8 LNA skills. I continue to gain more confidence in my ability to
12pm-2pm explain and answer the students' questions, as well as helping them
individually as needed.
09/23/22- PGC- I again observed and then participated in teaching the students more 6 hours
7am-11am, 1,2,3,7,8 LNA skills. Students are beginning to pick up their skills quickly, so
12pm-2pm as they finish practicing we allow them time to practice and learn
other skills that they may be struggling with or are wanting to learn.
09/26/22- PCG- 1,3,4 I was able to observe my preceptor teach her class about the 4 hours
7am-9am, importance of vital signs and making sure they understand the need
12pm-2pm and importance of taking accurate vitals. She had to use technology
to not only present the information but also connect with a few high
school students that are not able to meet for class in person. We
discussed how difficult but helpful the use of technology is in not
only teaching but in caring for patients.
09/28/22- PCG- 1,2,3 This class was a make-up skills lab for students who needed to make 2 hours
6pm-8pm up hours. We prepared the lab for a variety of different skills the
students may have wanted to practice and we were available to
answer any questions they had.
09/30/22- PCG- 4,5,7 In this skills lab the teacher wanted to show the students videos on a 4 hours
9am-11am, couple of the more difficult skills so that the students could really
12pm-2pm see them performed in a clinical setting. This will allow the students
to be more knowledgeable and lead to better patient outcomes.
There was also a discussion of the healthcare policies that need to be
followed and the disease prevention practices that should be
practiced.
10/05/22- PCG- 5,6 They were in class today and discussed the LNA’s scope of practice 2 hours
9am-11am along with the importance of following the policies and procedures
laid out for the LNA’s to follow. There was also a discussion about
the importance of collaboration between nurses, LNA’s, dieticians,
and doctors in regards to the best plan for the patient’s nutrition. My
preceptor and I also talked about how important it is to understand
our own scope of practice and how important it is to collaborate and
delegate. She explained how much she has had to learn and depend
on other instructors and the secretary since she is just learning how
to teach this course.
10/10/22- PCG- 1,2,9 Since I was able to sit in on 2 classes I observed the first class and 4 hours
9am-11am, then I taught the second class. The topic was on the digestive system
12pm-2pm and collecting Urine and stool samples as well as handling foley and
ostomy bags. Because I was able to help teach a class I gained
confidence as I continued to teach and I was able to facilitate class
participation. Doing this really helped me see teaching as a
possibility of something that I could do in the future.
10/14/22- PCG- 1,2,9 During these skills labs I was in charge of teaching each class and 6 hours
7am-11am, showing the students each of the skills that they would be practicing
12pm-2pm for the day. I continued to become more confident in teaching as the
day went on and I was grateful for that opportunity.
